Sasha developed a passion for all things culinary at an early age, growing up in Southern Russia. He was inspired by his grandmother's cooking and the wealth of ingredients available in the foothills of the Caucasus mountains.
Having emigrated to England in the mid 1990s Sasha was very fortunate to train under some of the most innovative and established chefs in London, including Philip Britten at the Capital Hotel and Stefano Cavallini at the Halkin. On moving to Somerset Sasha joined Adam Fellows at another Michelin-starred restaurant, Charlton House in Shepton Mallet.

It appears to be nothing new these days for a chef to be enthusiastically extolling the virtues of local produce and seasonal food. It's hardly a unique selling point I know, but to me it matters. Really. There are the obvious ecological and social benefits of sourcing locally and supporting local producers but it also allows me to monitor quality.
