Services
Dating back to the mid 1800's The White Post was an old post house where the 2 borders of Dorset & Somerset meet, there is still an old horse trough wedged into the pub on the road side, where the horses took a brief rest whilst papers were signed before carrying on their long journey into the next county.
From small plates, ala carte, set lunches, Sunday lunch or our must try tasting menus, we think we have something that covers every occasion, cooked and served with the same passion.
Provenance for The White Post is key, the West Country has an abundance of amazing producers, farmers, suppliers, cattle, sheep, deer, chicken, duck, game, fish, shellfish, cheese, cider, brandy, wines, fizz, ales, gin distillers to name just a few, many of these are a few miles away or even just across the fields, we are truly spoilt.

I'm really sorry to write this, but the food was not good. I feel I have to warn others. Some of it was ok, some of it was awful and I'm certain not what the chef intended to serve. We had the tasting menu, which is reasonable, but would never have again. The risotto in particular was wallpaper paste with completely bitter and burnt parmesan crisps on top. It had no flavour, was drizzled in what I can only describe as double cream. I couldn't eat it. Posted a photo to see the rice. Other things were better, lots of pretty plates and nice effort and presentation, pub atmosphere nice, but was very

What a fantastic place. We had a booking for midday on Friday, but due to traffic could not make till 1pm. We called them to warn about the situation and the staff were very accommodating, which was a nice touch as we had a toddler with us. The food was extremely good and beautifully presented and the service was excellent, which is very much appreciated in 2021 when many places are short of staff. Would definitely recommend

I was lucky enough to see a Tweet from the owner and head chef offering a deal that was so good, I drove for 4 hours to see if it was a good as it looked.
It was.
Once you go in, its warm and lovely inside with a real fire and staff that are about as passionate as you can get. And then you see the view. Its incredible. We luckily got there just in time to watch the sun set in the distance, over the stunning countryside. Perfect.
Our dinner was outstanding. We paid just £150.00 for a 10 course tasting menu, bed and breakfast. Dinner was not off the standard menu, as my wife doesn't eat
