Our Registered Veterinary Nurses run free puppy classes in our Largs and Saltcoats branches. In the past I have been to some veterinary practices where money appeared to be more important than the animal. DON'T feel that AT ALL when in the Oaks! We always feel 100% comfortable in recommending the practice and staff to friends, family or anyone else who will listen and we have done so on many occasions!

I recently had my border collie undergo some very serious treatment and I can't thank you enough. She is a transformed dog. Despite her very advanced age of sixteen and a half, she is back to running and jumping like an eight-year-old. I am a new dog owner and feel secure knowing that the advice shared with me is sound knowledge but individual to my dog.
Premises were custom-built in Saltcoats to cope with the increasing demand for care of domestic animals. The practice stopped treating farm animals and horses to solely concentrate on the care of companion animals. Our Saltcoats branch underwent a complete modernisation, refurbishment and an extension to the existing building.

Our Largs surgery is open all day Saturday and Sunday for routine appointments and emergencies - with no additional charges just because it's the weekend. We have a wide selection of routine flea and worming treatments to suit every age, breed and budget.
In some circumstances, your pet may require veterinary services over and above those we can offer at The Oaks. It is possible to refer your pet to other establishments such as Glasgow University Veterinary School, Vets Now Referrals or The Dermatology Referral Service. If this happens, your pet's notes will be sent along with a referral letter and any other relevant images or results e.g.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!

This is a popular vet practice and appointments are booked up over a week in advance at the moment. However, I was still able to get an urgent appointment for my dog when she needed it. The practice is modern and spotlessly clean and I was very happy with the consultation and the treatment she received.

The oaks vets are a brilliant business. They make you feel comfortable in the knowledge they are looking after your fur babies. If you're anything like me and my husband and see your pets as family members, this is the vet for you. They always make sure you know exactly what's happening with your pets treatment and they're really affordable. They even have payment plans that help you ensure your pet is always cared for. Would definitely recommend. Our cats, River and Ivy approve.
