Services
We are a family run practice, run by David and Shirley Norrington, which has been running for many years. Together with our dedicated and highly trained team of vets and nurses, we provide the highest standard of care in our two centre based practice, caring for all the towns and villages around Ayrshire and the south of Glasgow.
Here at Valley Veterinary Group, we're very proud to have so many enthusiastic and dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
At our surgery we provide continuity of care, working with you to provide effective and high quality treatment. From routine vaccinations through to surgical consultations, we build client relationships that support you. And whatever medications you need, our on-site dispensary will be able to provide them.
If your pet is has been prescribed long term medication, we can issue repeat prescriptions for most medications or prescription diets. As a requirement under prescribing laws and the RCVS code of practice it is necessary for any pet receiving prescription only medication to be "under the care of a veterinary surgeon".
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call your local surgery and you will be advised what to do next. If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, please contact Vets Now on 01563 258028. Vets Now is our preferred emergency services partner.

Recent support from this practice to me and cocker spaniel "Stoffie" has been above and beyond the call of duty. I was struggling to medicate and flush Stoffie's ear canals following a procedure performed by a specialist vet. So the good nurses at Valley Vet took over and did the job for me every day for two weeks. Thankfully I am now managing well on my own but at a time of great difficulty their support was invaluable. Thank you.

Very disappointed. The last 3 appointments I've been made to wait over 30 mins- not ideal with a cat carrier out in the cold/rain. But yesterday was the absolute worst. Attended with my problem cat who gets very distressed in a car/being a carrier due to previous trauma. Arrived on time and took me 20 mins to get through to them on the phone to let them know i was outside.. Over 20 times i phoned the vet... Rang out everytime. Popped my head in the door and was told to wait outside and phone in, no opportunity to explain, very hostile reception staff. Was made to wait in the car for 1.5 hours after

We are in Covid at the moment so it's a bit awkward for staff and people with pets, my only gripe is the weather we can't be expected to stand outside in the pouring rain even if the canopy is up it only fits 3/4 people.
I take it back there is a system in place where you text from car to bring pet in then they text and you go pick up much better idea.
One thing why are vets one of the dearest bills, you seam to spit out money to see your pet, money, check ears, money, finger up your pets bottom money money money
Once my pets pass on to pastures new am adopting a kid it's a whole lot cheaper
