Our distinctive Christian vision is to follow Jesus' teaching, enabling all members of the school family to live and love fully. St Wilfrid's is a Church of England primary school situated approx 2 miles north of Lancaster in the picturesque village of Halton. We currently have 247 children, aged 4 to 11, on roll.
An extremely positive ethos and happy atmosphere permeates our school and we enjoy a close relationship with the local community. Our children are well-motivated, positive, caring and responsive, reflecting our strong Christian values and ethos. The school sets very high standards and we aim to be a school to which children are proud to belong, which parents are pleased to support and where everyone feels valued and fulfilled.

All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the Church of England Education Office's framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005.
The SIAMS Evaluation Schedule sets out the expectations for the conduct of the Statutory Inspection of Anglican, Methodist and ecumenical Schools under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005 and provides a process for evaluating the extent to which church schools are 'distinctively and recognisably Christian institutions' (Lord Dearing, The Way Ahead: Church of England Schools in the New Millenium, 2001).

St Wilfrid's CE Primary School, in common with other schools, receives its funding from the Government via Lancashire Local Authority. One element of this funding is called the PUPIL PREMIUM. At St Wilfrid's Primary School, we aim for all children to make good or better progress and this includes those children whose family circumstances generate Pupil Premium income (PPG) for the school.
Global Ambassadors' role in school is to raise awareness of global and environmental issues. They are passionate about taking care of animals and our area around school, which can be seen in their work on the bug hotel. They lead projects such as Switch Off Fortnight and initiatives to do with the Green Flag Award.
