Westgate Children's Centre
Thank you for taking the time to look at our school website. Westgate is a thriving and popular school with a good reputation in the local community. It is a happy school where children, parents, staff and governors get on well together. Although we are rightly proud of our school, we are always looking for ways to make it even better.

We plan our curriculum to meet the needs of the children at Westgate School. OFSTED agrees that we are a 'Good' school. What you will find is that we learn and work with smiles on our faces and with a healthy sense of humour. We want every child to feel valued and safe by acknowledging and rewarding good behaviour and effort wherever possible.
Services
Westgate Wonders is run by a Voluntary Management Panel. This panel is made up of parents/carers of children from the club, a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Outside Agencies. The Panel provides support for Westgate Wonders, creates policies, develops long-term plans, sets the clubs fees and are responsible for staff and their development.
We want to avoid any accidents on the school site at any time of the day. Consequently we will make sure the pedestrian gates are both open as early as possible to reduce the numbers walking through the Children's Centre car park. Do not use the Children's Centre car park as a short cut to the Children's Centre main entrance - walk up to the school entrance and turn right along the perimeter of the car park.
Westgate Primary School has adopted in full the Admissions Policy recommended by the Local Authority. The main intake for the school is in September each year and the current Standard Number is 90. The procedures for seeking a place at the school are explained in the policy document. If parents are looking for a place in the school at any other point other than September a form is available at the school office.
A massive thank you to everyone at Westgate who gave all the Yr 6 leavers such a fun filled final week and an amazing send off. Daisy had a fantastic 15mths with you and takes away lots more confidence, new friends and many happy memories. I couldn't thank you personally yesterday as it would have opened the floodgates but we have really enjoyed being a small part of the Westgate family.
All members of the school community are respected and seen to have potential for improvement. Through effective teaching and learning, supporting and encouraging, together we can enable the fulfilment of that potential. We aim for success for all. There is an environment of opportunity engendering a sense of pride, ownership, responsibility and identity.

This school used to be great! Over the years it's deteriorated and been motivated by money. Constantly having training days of mufti days. Always having things which involve money.
