At Garstang Community Primary School we treasure each and every one of our pupils. We create inspirational learning opportunities in a vibrant, supportive environment in which our pupils grow together and are excited about their future in an ever changing world. We recognise the individuality of each of our pupils and nurture them emotionally, socially, spiritually, morally and culturally.
We create inspirational learning opportunities within an exciting curriculum which equips our pupils with the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in a dynamic world. Our pupils become enterprising, inquisitive young people with high expectations of themselves and a lifelong love of learning.

Services
The school is a Group 2 Community Primary which caters for pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 years. Eight spacious classrooms with linked resource areas provide flexible and versatile working areas. The total school site is in excess of 7 acres and the children enjoy large playground areas and spacious playing fields.
Oak Tree Nursery School, which is managed by a private provider, is situated on the premises of Garstang Community Primary School, with a Staff Team led by an Early Years Teacher, who pride themselves on providing a friendly, happy environment in which to introduce the youngest members of our community to new challenges and new friends, providing an atmosphere in which they will flourish, learn independence, social skills, build a foundation for learning and thrive.
At Garstang Community Primary the key purpose of assessment is to move children on in their learning. Continued regular monitoring of each child's progress gives a clear picture of what each child has learnt and how we as a team can move learning forward. It is important that each teacher knows what has been learnt, what skills have been acquired, what concepts have been understood and what learning objectives met.
We believe that our school should be a place where all children feel safe, happy, valued and respected; and where all children have the right to learn and the right to be listened to. Every child is encouraged and supported to participate fully in the academic, social and cultural life of the school.
Our Instrument of Governors show that we can have 14 Governors. Governors represent different areas of the community. Co-opted Governors are those who the Governing Body have asked to join them because of their specific skills. Staff and Parent Governors are elected by their peers. Local Authority Governors are appointed by Lancashire County Council, but are usually someone in the school's local community.
