We have been operating our nursery for over 30 years and our Ofsted report reflects the high quality of child care offer. Throughout our environment, we have created lots of invitations for learning using a wide variety of natural resources to create lots of magical moments for your precious children.

Services
At the East Dereham Day Nursery, many of us are parents ourselves and we fully understand the importance of creating a calm, comfortable yet stimulating environment for the precious babies in our care. Numbers are kept purposely low in order to allow a more relaxed baby focused room, experience shows that where numbers are higher this can sometimes prove unsettling for them.
From the age of 22 months to approx 3 years, children join our Sunshine nursery. Our toddlers are supported in their learning and development by knowledgeable, caring and respectful practitioners who understand their growing needs and developing independence.
They have lots of space to explore, develop their interests and develop their skills in the company of their friends as well as visits to the local community such as the post office and local markets.Through continuous provision, the room has been carefully designed to allow the children to freely access a wide variety of resources which aim to promote their imagination.

3 years and upwards your child will start in Rainbow, our pre-school rooms. These are important rooms for developing and promoting school readiness. There is an emphasis on discovery and learning and having the perfect environment and carefully placed resources will give the children all the support they need to develop in all areas and to gain the independence they will need ready for school.
Our Breakfast Club is open from 7.30am with breakfast being served at 7.45am. Children are provided with a variety of cereals and/or toast breakfast, accompanied by a drink. During Breakfast Club there will be different games to play and some much-needed chill out time before school. Our vehicles arrive to transport the children to school and depart at 8.25am prompt.
Children of all ages love to be outdoors whatever the weather, indeed outdoor learning provides the children with the potential to learn in a different way - it can be more physical, faster louder and bigger! The nature of the ever-changing outdoor environment also helps children to develop their problem solving and thinking skills.

Our little one has been at East Dereham for about 5 months now in the sunshine room and is always mentions her friends and the staff saying ‘Fun’.
We couldn’t be happier with how happy she is to go to nursery, and with being first time parents it was quite daunting the fact of her leaving to be in other peoples care for the day but All staff have been a dream on making us feel at ease with warm welcoming smiles and how they take the time to listen + give amazing feed back at what our little one has been up to in the day. We get to see pictures and little observations on the app to let us

Our experience with East Dereham Day Nursery has been fantastic. We have 3 year old twin boys who joined the nursery this year, in May. They has previously been with a child minder and we were a little concerned about how they would be in a bigger setting. The staff at East Dereham Day Nursery put our minds at rest and made the boys feel welcome… and happy from the first session. They love going to nursery and are always excited to go in! We feel really supported by the nursery and feel they go the extra mile to help our boys and keep us informed on how they are getting on. I am so glad

My son has been at this nursery for nearly a year now and is very happy going each day. It is the staff that really make it a lovely place. They always have a big smile and a genuine warmth when welcoming him each day and they know him so well. As a parent this is so important to me. I know that he is safe and happy when I leave him. I would recommend this nursery to any parent.

Eva started Nursery this August (sunbeams) and is loving her time there, the staff are lovely and really take the time to get to know you and your little ones. We love getting our Tapestry update throughout… the day and seeing what she has been up to... Her smiles says it all :)

My daughter has just completed her 3 settle in sessions within East Dereham Day Nursery and all I can say is WOW. The staff there are so incredibly friendly, every session she completed they left a lovely review on how my daughter got on via the app they have, which me and her father really looked forward to reading. The pictures they shared… showed Maya having fun with her other friends, exploring all the different toys and play areas they have which was lovely for us to see. We were so nervous as parents sending Maya to nursery, but we couldn’t have made a better decision. Knowing

My little boy joined in March when he turned 3 years old, he absolutely loves it! Everybody in the rainbow room were so helpful and made his settle in time so straightforward. Everyone who works there are so helpful, kind, caring and are so experienced in different ways. My sons speech has developed massively since going, which I cannot thank them enough for! I’m so glad we picked East Dereham Day Nursery 🌈💙

My little girl has been attending since April 2021 and my son attended around 6 years ago and I cannot fault the nursery at all. She is so we'll looked after while there. She was very nervous the first week but now absolutely loves attending. Would 100% recommend this nursery to anyone looking for the perfect place!

Very Kind and nurturing staff. Always welcomed with a smile, always focused on welcoming our child and referencing all the pictures we add to tapestry and engaging our child instantly and making something that can be distressing into a great start of the day.

Really happy that we enrolled our little boy here!
The setting was very welcoming and knowledgable on the first visit and our child (2 y/o) instantly felt at home, running around and engaging with the other children playing. It was at this moment I felt like he had always been going here and would thrive in this nursery setting (we have not been… disappointed by the explosion of development and funny things he comes out with).
There are play areas indoors and out, quiet time areas for relaxing in and the meals here must be good as our child eats everything in sight, especially the dessert

East Dereham Day Nursery is incredibly professional, welcoming and caring of the children they look after. My son goes to this nursery and he has developed fantastic relationships with the staff, they update regularly with information on his day and what he has been up to, as well as provide excellent activities to aid in his development. I cannot… recommend this nursery enough - even on their day off, they still wished my son a happy birthday. Such a personal touch from them all, and I cannot wait to see how my son grows and develops with their help.

My little boy has been at East Dereham day nursery since September 2020 - (aged 17 months) - Joining in the midst of a pandemic was always going to be a worrying time but the staff here instantly put our minds at rest. On the initial show around visit we were met at the door and required to be temperature checked before being allowed in. Various other hygiene and social distancing measures were also in place and being adhered to.
I was initially struck by just how clean this nursery is. Having visited a few other options, East Dereham is streaks ahead.

My son has been cared for by the staff at Dereham Nursery for over three years. We can wholeheartedly recommend both the nursery and the breakfast/after-school club as a place where the children are very well cared for by responsible, friendly and reliable staff. I am always amazed at the enthusiasm and energy the team show everyday! The daily activities that the children take part in are well thought out and are age appropriate, the facilities have been constantly improved and important health details (ie food allergies) are diligently catered for. Overall, a very happy place!

As a family we cannot rate East Dereham Day Nursery highly enough.
Since our son has been attending the nursery he has been brilliantly looked after. He has been given support and encouragement throughout his time there. He loves going to nursery. There is always a variety of well planned activities and learning on offer, the staff are always really caring and attentive.
The flexibility offered to us all is invaluable and the staff are all trustworthy and reliable. Also the help we have received from the office staff has been great.
