We provide professional day-care provision for children in the local community within a rural farmyard setting, utilising a converted Sussex tithe barn and its surroundings. We do this in the following ways: We take the children on beautiful woodland walks, as the nursery is set close to woods. We keep a few farm animals such as chickens, goats, cows and sheep.
Breakfast, lunch and tea are prepared and cooked on site in the nursery kitchen. Where possible produce is fresh and meat will be local and traceable. The nursery is open 50 weeks of the year (closed for one week in December and one week in August). We offer early start times and late closing times.

Services
We provide plenty of outside space. To the front of the nursery, we have a hard area with a mud kitchen and an outside sink that children have access to. There is a separate grassed area beyond the playground. We really feel so lucky to have them attend such a unique nursery, what a super start to their education!
Established relationships with parents means we can share information positively and effectively to support children as much as possible. We have daily diaries as a means of communicating your child's events of the day. This is for the 0-2 year old age group. We use a whiteboard outside to write the daily events of older children.

After a year’s maternity leave I was naturally a little apprehensive about going back to work and my daughter settling into nursery. I needn’t have worried as Amelie settled in almost immediately and absolutely loves her day’s at nursery. The staff are so kind and caring and I’m so pleased their hard work has once again been recognised with another ‘outstanding’ ofsted report. I couldn’t wish for a better nursery and would recommend it without hesitation!

We would totally recommend The Farmyard nursery. I have been coming here for 6 years now l, our son went here from the age of 1 and my daughter attends now. Both have loved the outdoor rural life going on long adventures in the woods with all the great activities their amazing staff do with them. Both children have learnt so much from their caring… and wonderful staff. The food here is cooked on site by the amazing Louise and is so varied fresh and healthy! my children love it. Tractor rides to water slides in the summer with cows chicken goats and sheep in the fields what more could you

The most incredible nursery to send your children to. Such lovely staff, so kind, caring and nurturing. They spend so much time outside and in the wonderful woods, couldn’t have asked for a better place for my kids to grow and learn before they went to school. The food is also phenomenally good, cooked fresh and so varied every day.
