Services
Artemis Nursery was established in 2007. It was initially located in St Leonards, but due to its success and considerable increase in numbers, has expanded to encompass a further two sites, one in Hastings and more recently a site in Hollington. Artemis Nursery is a family nursery, being both run and owned by Emma Buggy and her brother and sister in law Dominic and Lee.
At Artemis, children in our care are happy, nurtured and encouraged to develop. We want to ensure that every child leaves us with a stimulated and enquiring mind and with lots of confidence in their own abilities. We aim to achieve this by providing a structure for learning where children explore, experiment, play and make decisions for themselves, thus enabling them to progress and be fully equipped for future schooling.
At Artemis Nurseries we believe that we can best meet the needs of individual children by working closely with parents. We aim to develop partnerships between parents and staff which are based on mutual trust and respect and which promote the sharing of information and knowledge for the benefit of the children in our care.
At Artemis, we choose our staff for their ability to provide the optimum care and dedication to your child to the exacting standards you would expect as a parent. We believe that the most important factor in terms of children's education and performance is the quality of teaching and staff who interact with the children.
We base all our planning on the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which feeds back into the KS1 National Curriculum. The early years foundation stage is how the government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and the age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and success.

Our son has been going here for around 6 months now, when he started he was very shy and extremely cautious around new people. The team at Artemis have really helped develop his skills and personality. Now my son can’t wait to get off to nursery and see his friends and the staff. The changes we’ve noticed in him have been amazing. All the while the staff post regular updates and photos on the baby days app which is great for us to see his progress. Thank you to everyone involved at this nursery.

I cannot recommend Artemis and their team highly enough. They operate with an incredibly reassuring level of professionalism, whilst always being warm and kind. They really understand how important it is for parents to know that their children will be safe and happy in their care, so bend over backwards to provide a level of service that is completely tailored to each child and their parents' individual needs. Having the support of the Artemis team made settling into the area a million times easier in our first few years here and we're just so grateful for all that they've done for our family.

Our daughter absolutely loves Artemis Nursery! We were a bit worried when she started as she was born in lockdown and hadn't socialised much, the team were brilliant and really helped to ease her in and keep us updated. Her days are packed full of activities and we receive regular updates and pics via the app, the food menu is fantastic too. We've been really impressed with this nursery and would highly recommend it.

Our oldest son has been attending Artemis for over two years now and we are so happy with how well he has been cared for and how much he enjoys it. He has made lots of friends there and gets disappointed on the days he does not attend nursery! Our youngest son has recently started in the baby room and has settled so well already thanks to the amazing staff. The communication is very good and the staff really care for the children and know them well. We would highly recommend this nursery.

We have been using Artemis Nusery Hastings since Febuary 2017 first for our son, and then for our daughter who started in 2019 and hoping to send our youngest next year. We absolutely love sending our children here, the staff are all so lovely and will do anything to help the children and they are very accommodating too. The children always come home so happy with lots of stories to tell about there day at nusery.

We send both our daughters to this lovely nursery. There are so many good things to say about Artemis; the activities the children do, the core values they instill, the general ethos of kindness, sharing and friendship, which are the crux of the establishment. However, the best thing about this nursery and the main reason we send our girls there is down to the attitude and care of each and every member of staff. My daughter has attended Artemis Hollington for nearly two years (since she was as baby). Having been in the baby room and toddler I can say that she has had kind, supportive keyworkers who work hard to build, bond and help your child thrive. She finds nursery fun and has definitely benefitted from the thriving environment. In terms of admin, communication and invoices the organisation are prompt and Beth (the manager)is always an email or call away to help with any queries. Thank you Artemis for supporting us both.

My second son attended artermis from 2.5 up until 4.5 he thrived here and loved coming into nursery everyday. He really missed nursery once he started school. My youngest son has been attending since 15 months and is almost 2. He struggled with separating from myself but within 4-6 weeks if even that he went running in excitedly into nursery and… has settled fine he loves coming in and we can see how much it's benefitted him in several ways by attending nursery.
