Olives Caf is named after Olive Tate who co-founded the nursery with her husband Allan. Olive loved plants and her dogs that she walked in the woods every day, where she'd be looking out for her beloved kingfisher. Olive's granddaughters Vicky and Helen now co-run the nursery. We have just received some beautiful Nordman Fir Trees grown at Hole Park in Kent and harvested at the last possible moment to.
The idea of the D house was born when brothers Andreas and Jaak Tiik were planning a weekend of hiking in their Estonian homeland. They were looking for a small house in a beautiful spot where they could spend the night. However, all they could find were log houses for larger groups of people or small houses of mediocre quality.

I love this place and cannot wait to start shopping here properly again. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff who have endless patience in helping us pick out the best plants for our current project. It is a pleasant place to walk around, not just for the plants but the grounds in general. Stop by the cafe and have some lunch and you have a decent morning or afternoon out. Plants are always well presented and it is so nice to have the option of sizes of each type. You can choose how much you want to spend and if you want a ready made garden or watch it develope.

A real gem of a garden centre with a great selection of trees and plants. Far better than local competitors with very fair pricing. Good garden advice available too. One star off for slow service in the café in spite of booking and arriving in good time which then left us without enough time to explore the plant areas outside

So very disapointed, me and my mum used to go every week for lunch, this was the first time since Lockdown , people seated after us were served before us, drinks and food. very slow service , very limited menu...turned out they had a specials board still but we hadnt been shown. only saw as we finished our meal when they seated an elderly couple and showed them. Used to be my favourite place to go.

Had a lovely afternoon here. Had a light lunch and a look around the shop. Not masses of things to buy but some unusual bits and pieces and a very good selection of indoor plants. Wandered round outside too and was impressed by their shrubs, trees etc and some very nice planters. Was well set up to comply with Covid restrictions too.

We had breakfast (table of 4) this morning at Olives. The Olives Sussex breakfast is good 1 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, fried sliced potato’s, baked toms with seasoning and beans. Ordered toast and black pudding as extras. All good quality ingredients and you can definitely taste the difference. Bill was £65 overall which included 3 Sussex breakfasts, eggs on toast, 7 coffees (latte style) and two small tubs ice cream to go. Price was worth it for the quality of the food and we knew what to expect as had been there many times before lockdown. You have to book and you choose your table (we booked

We had the most delicious lunch here yesterday, it was a cold, windy day and my cauliflower cheese with delicious garlic bread and home made coleslaw really warmed me up. I found a shrub that you can never find anywhere, Daphne Jacqueline Postill which absolutely made my day! Well done to the wonderful Tate family and team, such a great nursery, shop and cafe.
