Downham Pre-School has been registered with Ofsted for many years and is operated from the original Downham School building. The trustees manage the Pre-School and also own the building itself. The premises are situated on the main street of Downham, with a lockable gate, in a rural area within the Ribble Valley close to Clitheroe in Lancashire.
Its stunning setting, with open views towards Pendle, creates a warm and welcoming environment for children, parents and carers alike. The setting consists of two playrooms with a large, secure outdoor play area. Children may attend for any amount or combination of the above session times subject to availability.

Services
Mission Statement: We aim to develop each child's talents, abilities and self-confidence within a caring, ordered and stimulating environment. Here at Downham Pre-School we teach to the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We actively seek to provide opportunities for the development and growth of intellectual and physical skills and carry out regular assessments in all areas of the curriculum.

Small intimate setting where children can roam and mix with all the children in the building without restriction by age so siblings are not separated into age rooms. Staff are helpful, kind and dedicated and provide an extensive range of activities that are appropriate and educational. The extra few miles we drove to take my grandchildren there was well worth it.

This preschool is absolutely amazing. My daughter loved it. The staff are wonderful and caring. The entire ethos and atmosphere is perfect and with a focus on ages 2-4 they really know their children here. I will be driving out of my way to ensure that my second daughter also gets the opportunity to experience this preschool.

Downham preschool is just an absolute gem, set in the beautiful countryside. My daughter loves going & has made some wonderful friends. The staff are all extremely welcoming & interact with the children on all levels. I love to see what little creations she comes home with from painted pictures, cakes, biscuits & marvellous crafts. It's exceeded my expectations, highly recommended.... It'll be a sad day when my daughter has to leave to start school. xx

I can't reccomend this preschool highly enough. ... Fantastic start to our sons schooling and learning. He struggled at first leaving us, but with the advice and help from the staff (especially Susan) he… goes 3 days a week now and thoroughly enjoys his self..... lots of Learning and fun..... 10 out of 10... Fantastic. .......

The most amazing place for any little one to grow and develop. There is nowhere else I would consider sending my children and I cannot recommend the setting or staff highly enough. Consistently excellent - there were four years between my first and second child attending and the same level of care is there as I knew it would be. Outstanding in every way and the children can't wait to go each day.
