My elderly parents booked a weekend break for their 50th wedding anniversary. The elevator wasn't working and has been out for sometime apparently, my mother could barely make it up the stairs. They went out most of the day and upon returning their room hadn't even been cleaned. Still unmade bed, wet towels. Apparently member of staff hadn't shown up(pathetic excuses all weekend). How this hotel can charge them over £300 per night is daylight robbery. This hotel is far from 4 or 5 star. Not sure who's running it but someone needs to be held accountable .

What started as a one-night stay turned into two. Although the hotel is still undergoing renovations (this didn't impose on our stay), you can't deny the potential of the property. Our sea view room featured beautiful bay windows that made looking out at the water a pleasure. It was just as good as having a balcony if not better. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and hospitable. We look forward to returning to see the new Chatsworth in all its glory.

The Chatsworth hotel is in a great location and is indeed a beautiful building. Rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, with contemporary minimalist decor and beautiful white marble in the bathrooms. There are fresh flowers in both the room and bathroom - attention to detail which I really appreciated. You can opt to have breakfast in the room, which is very convenient. All the staff we spoke to were great, including the owner, George. We got a special deal to celebrate my birthday, with a bottle of prosecco included in the price. Parking is also included and it’s just in front of the hotel.

Stayed in the Chatsworth hotel this weekend (5th Sept), and it was an incredible experience. Our room was upgraded on arrival and the view of the Sea was incredible. We were also given complimentary breakfast as a result of the renovations taking place downstairs but to be honest, you wouldn't notice it. One of the best places we've stayed!

We arrived in Eastbourne to find that our booking at another hotel by a company called stayforlong.com had not been arranged as promised. Luckily for us there was a room available at The Chatsworth. The Owner/manager and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Recently refurbished our apartment featured a super king size bed and beautiful spacious marble bathroom. Ideally placed on the sea front. Highly recommended.

The hotel needs a little sprucing up as the rooms are quite dated. Pillows need to be replaced. Rooms have no A.C. but open windows and small oscillating fans help. It was still too hot for me to get a good night's rest. My bathroom was tiny. A larger person would not be comfortable in the small shower. They do provide shampoo, body wash, lotion, shaving kit, dental kit. Most don't anymore. They provided bottled water, Kettle with coffee, tea, hot cocoa is nice to have. There is no iron, but there is an ironing room down the hall and a pant press in the room. There was a flat screen

I stayed here recently during the Aegon International Tennis tournament. The single rooms are very small, there's no AC at all, and even thou it can be breezy outside, the rooms gets extremely hot at night. We were provided with fans, but still was very uncomfortable.
Also, our room was right in front of the closet where the maids keep the linens and every morning they would slam the doors and sit right in front of our room to chat at 7:30 am. We had to ask them to please keep it down several times.
Between the noise they made and the heat, it was impossible to sleep well.

A lovely old building that has unfortunately seen better days. If only the owners could spend money doing up the bedrooms this grand old lady would really shine. The common areas are good but the bedrooms are very poor indeed - the hotel could never gain another star while the bedrooms are in such a poor state.
There is a lovel old fashioned lift that adds a lot of atmosphere to the hotel and the staff were helpful but not outstandingly so. Our bedroom didn't have hot water and we moved very quickly to another room of equal (I'm afraid!) poor quality. it is a shame as this could be
