EDIT: I'm editing this review to reflect it going from 3 to 4 stars.
Doctors are mostly great, Dr Ali is absolutely fantastic. The receptionists are doing their job better than most others,
especially in answering the phone. They will answer the phone even if there is no appointments left anymore which not every practice does. But they are also very ready to withdraw service when you misstep. There's a few rules that you HAVE to observe.
When you call for 8am or 11am, make sure you call right on the dot and wait until they speak to you. Even if you're number 19 in the queue there's a very good

Probably the worst GP in Scotland. The receptionist are very rude, ugly, crazy and unhelpful. They Treated patient as a criminal . If you call them at 8am for an appointment after 20 or 30 minutes they will tell you all appointment is full please call at 11am thank you. When you call them again at 11am, they will respond you as usual. We are full for today please call tomorrow at 8am.

My husband and I just moved to Edinburgh, and we have had nothing but great experiences with this GP. Yes, you do have to come early to register and wait. Yes, you do need to call exactly at 11am to get a same-day appointment, but as we have followed all their guidelines, we have been able to speak to the doctor several times when calling on the same day. The GPs are very kind, understanding, and they really listen and resolve problems. I have some anxiety surrounding doctors' offices, but when I went for an in-person procedure, the staff was so understanding and caring about making me feel comfortable

Everyone is lovely - receptionists, nurses, GPs. They are patient, they listen to me, they take me seriously, and are happy to answer my questions.

Virtually impossible to get an appointment. Reception in person is welcoming, and doctors (when you’re able to see them) are okay, but the service over the phone is abysmal. Long waiting times, usually busy tone, which means you have to keep calling, only to not be able to book an appointment, and rude to the point where I have literally had the person on the phone tell me there’s no available appointments, call Monday thanks bye and hang up on me!

I have no experience in GP services as yet - this is purely REGISTRATION REVIEW- It is 2021- I have arrived to register in GP, waiting outside in the queue for an hour and more! You got to be this early if you want to get this done. Area - Gorgie - you would think , considering the volume of population here - there would be easier way to register in GP (email, online registration, options are countless- check with partner GP practises , how do they go about it) - you would also think considering the century this would not be a case - to waste your time standing outside waiting to register, like

This practice is one of the best in Edinburgh. I should know, I worked for the NHS for many years as a Secretary to 7 Consultants. The practice has never let me down, as a Secretary trying to get help for a patient or, as a patient myself. Recently, their prompt action to get a family member seen as a matter of urgency and then organised another scan immediately after this, I have no words to express my gratitude, especially Dr S Ali, who was wonderful. Nuff said. Great practice xx

I haven't got any complaints about this surgery - yes, you need to follow instructions when registering, but it's not the fault of this practice that GP surgeries are struggling to cope with the number of people who need to register. (Government, please sort it!) The doctors I and my family have seen are pleasant, have up to date knowledge and don't make you feel rushed, although they have time limits to stick to where possible. We have been able to get appointments within a reasonable time, to suit us, and sometimes on the same day. In comparison with the medical care we have had in the area of
