New Swannington Primary School is in the heart of the New Forest and is situated between the villages of Whitwick and Swannington, approximately 2 miles from Coalville. The original school buildings date back to 1921 when the school's population was approximately 40 children. Over the years, this number has grown considerably and there are now approximately 200 children on role with each class being made up of a single year group.
The education and development of all our children is paramount to us and we recognise that the best can be achieved if our families and the school work together as a team. Communication is key to our success and we are committed to maintaining a regular conversation.

Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
This was a method for us to better understand if and where there was a need for us to improve. We were delighted with the feedback and responses that were returned to us, and we are pleased to share this information below. As with all things, there is always room to improve, and we have addressed issues that were identified as requiring our attention.
School dinners are currently free to all children in KS1 (Years EYFS, 1 and 2) and are charged at 2.35 (per day) for children in KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6). Children are also welcome to bring their own packed lunch, however, we do encourage healthy lunch boxes. We are a nut free school.
If an individual has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, simply being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts could potentially be dangerous for our children. Therefore, please can we ask that you carefully consider the items that you include in packed lunches eg.

Our Breakfast Club is available to all our Year Groups at a cost of 3.00 per child, per day. The aim of our Breakfast Club is to support working parents by providing early morning childcare from 7.30am to 8.30am, Monday to Friday, as well as offering our children the opportunity to have a healthy breakfast at the start of the school day in a safe and friendly environment.
