Snarestone Church Of England Primary School
Snarestone Church of England (Aided) Primary School is situated on Main Street in the heart of the village's conservation area. It has been a school since 1717, when 3 cottages were donated by a Mr. Thomas Charnells for the education of the children of the village. These cottages form the frontage of the present school.

Extensions were built in Victorian times and in 1973. A group of trustees meets annually to support our provision, and incredibly, they have minutes of all their meetings since the first one in 1717. Although partly housed in historic buildings, our school facilities are modern and vibrant.

We want our school to be the kind of school that everyone enjoys coming to, where everyone knows and understands each other. We want it to be a cheerful place, where we look after everyone. We want it to be a safe place where children can be trusted to be sensible, because everyone follows the class and school rules and expectations, and lives by our school values.
Why have houses? We feel the children benefit from being members of mixed age school teams. It helps develop opportunities for year groups to work together, encourages children to support each other, gives them a strong sense of responsibility and belonging and provides them with a range of additional activities to take part in.
There are 12 people, known as the Governing Board, who challenge Mr Jewitt (our Headteacher) to make sure the school continues to improve and provides every pupil with wonderful learning experiences.

We take Mr Jewitt's advice on educational matters because this is his expertise, and constantly work together with him towards improving the School and making sure ALL the pupils at Snarestone are making as much progress as they possibly can and achieve the best they can.We also discuss with Mr Jewitt (who is also a governor) if the lessons are exciting enough.
NWLSSP Spirit of the Games Values that our school has adopted and strive to always achieve. We provide a very wide range of sports and physical activities to ensure the participation and engagement of all pupils. We are well supported in this by our Sports Partnership coach who visits school weekly.
