Services
The Family Room is used for parents and children to come and visit. Mrs Mills works in the Family Room with parents from across the school to help and support throughout the school year. Meetings are held in here with outside agencies. The school hall is where the children have all their assemblies.
At Garswood Primary School, we believe that parents are a child's first educators and we recognise how important parent influence is throughout a child's time in the Early Years. We aim to work closely with parents and carers, to ensure that every child has the best possible start in school and in life!
Our Reception class is a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children are cared for, nurtured and encouraged to learn and reach their full potential. We work in partnership with parents to enable our children to learn in a fun and exciting way through their play. The environment indoors and outdoors is designed to enable children to develop the independence and confidence they need to become really engaged in their learning.
Mrs Meehan is the Year 1 class teacher on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with Mrs Rollason teaching in Year 1 on a Tuesday. Mrs Harrison is the Learning Assistant in Year 1 alongside Mrs Forshaw who works in Y1 part time. In Year 1 we believe that children learn best when they are having lots of fun!
The Year 2 children are taught by Miss Jenkinson on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday and Miss Moon on Monday, along with Mrs Harrison & Mrs Brown and Miss Sheedy (TAs) throughout the week. In Year 2, the children continue to develop their own independence. They are given lots of responsibilities and they challenge themselves to achieve their full potential!

I have been in this school for a year now and I am so happy that I have been given the opportunity to meet the teachers. When I first moved in I felt part of a massive family, this was my last day! I'm happy to move on with the experience of Garswood primary school but sad to leave all the happy memories. It is full of amazing people and the time of a life! 😀 THANK YOU!! 😀
