At St Mary's Nursery we provide a loving and caring atmosphere which helps the children transition from home life into the wider world. We offer a learner-centred approach where children can learn through self-directed play and exploration. Children who come to St Mary's Nursery will be given the opportunity to develop their curiosity, self-esteem, independence, emotional intelligence and resilience.
And, of course, have fun! As a parent or carer, we know the decision regarding the care of your child at nursery is one of the most important decisions you will make in their development. At St Mary's Nursery, you can be sure that your child is in a secure environment where their wellbeing and development are given the highest priority.

Services
St Mary's Nursery School is a registered charity which is run as a non-profit making organisation by a committee of parents. The Nursery welcomes children of all faiths in the community. The setting is in a purpose-built classroom next to St Mary's Catholic Primary School. We have a secure fenced garden and a covered pergola with an all-weather surface allowing outside play all year round.
At St Mary's Nursery School we provide a safe environment in which children can experiment, explore and progress in their own creative ways. The intent of our EYFS curriculum is to ensure our children develop the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to achieving fulfilling lives. The EYFS is the start of our children's school journey towards achieving this important purpose.
Children are entitled to 15 hours per week of Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE) funding from the term after the term that they are 3, until they start school. St Mary's Nursery offers 2.5 funded hours per 3.5 hour session. In order to access the full 15 hours of funding, your child will need to attend six sessions at nursery per week.
At St Mary's Nursery School we have a defined admissions process, which we ask that you follow in order that we can fulfil our safeguarding and child protection obligations. Nursery visits can be arranged at short notice by calling Katie or Sophie, our nursery supervisors, on 01892 611721. Once we have received your 15 registration fee, we will send you registration forms and EYEE grant forms (where applicable).
St Mary's Nursery School Committee are a group of parents and carers that commit to volunteering a small amount of their time to aid the smooth and efficient running of the Nursery. The Trustees sit on the Committee to advise on the day to day running of the Nursery. We are truly fortunate that our Committee is a passionate, dedicated and hands-on team.

My 3 year old attends here and absolutely loves it. She settled in immediately which was a great sign! The staff are lovely, always happy, loving and really care about the children. They all receive lots of attention and she always comes home very happy. The staff also send pictures and videos throughout the day via the Famly app, which are always great to see, especially when she was settling in, to reassure us she was having a lovely time.

I cannot thank Katie, Sophie and the rest of the girls enough for the way that they cared for and loved Florence for this past year. St Mary's Nursery is so wonderful and we will miss you all so much. There will be no where else that I would choose to send Penelope when it's her turn to start nursery. Lots of love to you all xxxx
