Since both courses are constructed with the benefit of chalk bedrock, we seldom see our courses closed. The Pro Shop stocks a full range of equipment and also has trolleys, clubs and buggies available to hire. The club has competitive green fee rates and we always welcome enquiries about membership.
Services
It is believed that no other golf club obtained its Royal title so soon after it was founded. The 8th Duke of Devonshire accepted the Presidency which has stayed with the family ever since and his son, The Marquis of Hartington MP, became the first Club Captain. The Eastbourne Ladies' Golf Club was founded in 1888.
During the presidency of Spencer Compton Cavendish, the 8th Duke of Devonshire, the current clubhouse was erected and although it still exhibits many of the original features, it has been extensively modernised and extended to provide two bars and a large dining room overlooking the course.

Opened in 2000, the Millennium Lounge is a wonderful place to have a meal or relax after your round with breathtaking views of our course and the South Downs beyond.Being the most flexible room in the clubhouse, it can be a relaxing lounge, a restaurant, or the perfect venue for a large celebration with or without the mobile dance floor.
Nestled in the truly beautiful surroundings of the South Downs, our clubhouse is the perfect venue for any event. We can accommodate business meetings and seminars as well as private functions and wedding receptions. We aim to ensure that your event is personalised to your exact requirements with a truly tailored package suited to the occasion.
The 100 year old Devonshire Course is named after The Duke of Devonshire and it provides an attractive combination of parkland and downland with outstanding views across Eastbourne and 18 different, but challenging holes.

Our flagship course, maintained to the highest standards and playable throughout the year due to its excellent drainage, offers a combination of open fairways and narrow doglegs, challenging bunkers, testing putts and requires some accurate tee shots. The 10th hole is arguably The Royal's signature hole.

Nice short 9 hole that offers some challenging shots. The 18 hole course very unusually still requires official handicap cert under 28 to play. Price is on the higher side.

We held our wedding at REGC in October. From start to finish it was beyond what we expected. Communication and organisation from Marco excellent and no request too much. All the staff were exceptional and created a wonderful day for all. Thank you

Nice course in very good condition. The greens looked like they had been recently sanded which was a shame. However overall would visit again

This was my first visit to the Royal Eastbourne golf club. I was part of a team playing a match against their seniors. The course is undulating Downland adjacent to the South Downs but the holes follow the contours of the land so there are no steep lung busting climbs. The course was in fantastic condition with greens running true but not too slick. The 2nd cut rough was difficult but not impossible to play from and a suitable penalty for going off line. The clubhouse facilities are excellent and there is a spacious dining room. We had lamb casserole and seasonal vegetables and the food was excellent

Not a golfer but looks a great course to play. When closed during lockdown had several dog walks and scenery is magnificant! Been to a few events at the clubhouse and is most definitely a great venue!

A lovely long dry course! Very enjoyable even with a lot of wind. The view on the town and the green sea was fantastic.
Challenging course as there is a slope.
Think before you hit! Particularly on the 3th... My advice is avoiding the fairway as the slope send back the ball backwards and ruined any good tee shot. Thought on the left or down on the right are good for me.
Long holes and tricky greens to engage your brain.
Dry course all year which is nice and good condition for the greens and fairway at this time of the year.
Enjoyed it and will return to it.
