Dear parents and carers, if you are reading this then hopefully you are considering sending your child to Meadowlands Pre-School and for that I thank you. I have been the manager of Meadowlands for nigh on fifteen years and I am extremely proud of our setting and the journey we have taken to become the Outstanding setting we are today.
Meadowlands pre-school is a committee led setting comprising of parents of whose children attend the setting. This ensures our parents have a say and some control over the running of our pre-school. Our parents and families are encouraged to partisipate in our social and fundraising events throughout the year.
The dedicated team at Meadowlands are a close knit group of long serving, highly qualified staff who really enjoy their work with our children and families. Each and every member is valued for their expertise in their role. The staff at Meadowlands have a diverse range of experience, expertise and qualifications in many different aspects of Early Years Childcare and Education, from Makaton and Block-play to Autism and Portage.
Progression in play reflects the observation and assessment of children's knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to provide developmentally appropriate experiences. Children come to pre-school already as skilled learners. Through our observations, assessment and professional judgement we gain valuable insights into how each one learns best.
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning. Enabling environments encourage babies and young children to play because they feel relaxed, comfortable and 'at home' in them. When children feel emotionally safe and secure they are able to explore and find out about the place they are in and the things they can see, touch, manoeuvre or manipulate.
