Services
Meltham C of E Primary School has a long standing ethos of providing our children with a well-rounded, exceptional education that concentrates on the core subjects but inspires the children allowing them to be confident, creative and above all, have an enjoyable and memorable time at school. We believe it is essential to treat all our children as individuals, but also that we value the opinions, ideas and input of parents and carers.
All staff and all parents are members of our P.S.A. Annually we raise between 4000-6000 to fund activities and equipment for our school. Over the years we have funded the purchase of laptops and tablets, library books, supported growing projects and outdoor work to name just a few. Where individuals and companies can shop at their usual online retailers and school benefits from a donation at no cost to the customer.
I must have done something right over the past few years! This job is very varied, but one of the perks is that I get the chance to wander right across the school - from Foundation Stage up into Key Stage One, and onward through Key Stage Two.
This is a part of my job that I especially enjoy as it lets me learn a thing or two from our fantastic teachers, and gives me the opportunity to interact with all of the children in school (not just my own bunch).I haven't always been a teacher though.

A number of clubs are held after school and open to specified year groups to minimise the mixing of class bubbles. Clubs will be open to different year groups in the first and second half term. Places for clubs are secured on a first come, first served basis by making payment via www. Children are dismissed from the front office and children will only be allowed to leave unattended if this has been confirmed in writing by the parent.

I moved here from Northern Ireland 12 years ago and viewed all 3 Primary Schools in the local area. We decided we would like our children to attend this school because of the wonderful ‘family’ feel it had as soon as we walked through the door. The staff work amazingly as a team and the relationships they have with the children is clearly evident. The values taught here are what every child needs, to be the best they can be. 3 of my children have thoroughly enjoyed their time here and now attend High school... 2 still currently attend and are growing in confidence daily. Alex is currently in Yr 3 at this school and every one of his school years have been happy. Our personal experience of this school and their staff has been a very pleasant one. The only negatives I have ever encountered are concerning children with additional needs.
Friends who have children attending with additional needs (both high functioning and special needs) have related stories about the school being reluctant to chase extra resources and that the Sen provision is inconsistent. I have never encountered this myself though and I must say that the school is very strong on positive reinforcement
