Generous portions of food well kept drink. The two ladies serving when I visited were jovial and helpful.
Pub is more traditional than many these days and all the better for it.

Brought our 87 year old dad here last night and he said it was the best meal he'd had for years.
Food was fabulous and the staff were brilliant. Really reasonably priced plus a free house so great selection of beers.

My wife and I have just returned from a fortnight stay at the white horse lodge, we have had a very comfortable and enjoyable time. Mine host was very approachable, the staff were very helpful and obviously enjoyed their work. The food was excellent. We had breakfast in the pub each day and there was a good choice on the menu with the opportunity to mix and match. We ate in the bar on several evenings and found the food to be delicious and of high quality.
The accommodation was beautifully clean and well appointed. A brilliant place to enjoy Somerset from. David Burrell

Good pub Grub... My wife had scampi, I had steak and ale pie, plentiful servings, extra jug of gravy for the chips... Just what we wanted on a cold October evening... Diversion from A39, was a bit of a nightmare mind... Check traffic before setting off... Takes 40 mins, as opposed to 10-15, from Minehead.

Had lunch here after visiting the nearby Cleeve Abbey. Ate in large beer garden, next to a stream. Very pleasant. Food was good, plentiful and delicious. It was standard pub grub, I had burger and chunky chips, but done really nicely, super tasty.

What can I say. Not sure if it's the covid factor or what? Looks as if it should be OK but they serve dried up burgers and soggy chips. Beer choice was good but landlord coughed over my pint then told me it was only a smokers cough. So many pubs around here are not trying because there is a wealth of customers . Please up the game!

We stayed for one night to meet up with friends staying nearby.
What a find! Great staff, especially Daz, great banter and humour!
The food was excellent, it was nice that not everything on the menu had chips with it. Lovely fresh veg with the meal my friend and I had.
Our room was nice. The pub itself is quite quirky but that made it interesting.
All very clean and safe for visitors, in the current times. Well done! Loved it.😘

The minute we arrived we pressed the bell located in the garden area
To be greeted with !!
What do you want ?
I don’t bring drinks outside
You can’t eat out here
Only one person can order at the bar
Now firstly the sign in the garden area
States the following:
1 Ring Bell that’s exactly what we did
But the attitude of the man that spoke to us was incredibly RUDE !!
I have stayed at this pub 4 years ago and the food and staff were fantastic
Never again will I go to this place and will never recommend it
Oh and another thing sign in the gents toilets!
