We are a privately-run day nursery, providing a warm, nurturing atmosphere for children aged three months to five years old. We also provide a Holiday Club for children, from primary school entry to 11 years old, to have a happy, secure place to enjoy their school holidays. As a small, 40-place nursery, we value a close relationship with parents and will provide you with peace of mind that your child is receiving a high standard of care.
We respond to the needs of each child individually, and can cater for all abilities. We are very proud of our excellent staff retention many of our early-years practitioners have been with us for five years or more and, together with our 'key worker' system, this helps to ensure a stable, reliable environment for your child's development as they progress through the nursery.

Services
North Star Nursery has been established for over 23 years and in purpose-built facilities, on the Polaris House site, since 1999. Originally set up as a work place nursery to provide childcare for staff of the Research Councils, which now includes RCUK Shared Services Centre Ltd and the Technology Strategy Board, our planning permission also allows us to offer childcare services to external clients.
The Nursery Management Committee and staff would like to say a big thank you to Polaris House staff and Nursery and Holiday Club users, both current and past, for their continuing support. If you require labels for school uniform, bags and shoes or are thinking about purchasing personalised gifts, please remember that the nursery earns a small commission on all orders placed through the Easy2Name website.
The Local Offer must set out, in one place, information about provision they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including those with or without Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.

North Star Nursery are taking part in a project that will run jointly between schools, Early Years settings and Wiltshire Police: ENCOMPASS is the reporting to schools and early years settings by the next working day, when a child or young person has been affected by a domestic incident.
ENCOMPASS will ensure that a member of staff, known as a Key Adult, will be shared the information in confidence, while ensuring that the school or setting is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, affected or exposed to a domestic abuse incident.
