Nancy Lam's Enak Enak restaurant loves family style, Indonesian inspired cooking. Nancy's team welcome you with a warm and friendly service offering good, honest, freshly-cooked cuisine. Ignite your taste buds with the famous mouth watering Satay - the 'made from scratch' peanut sauce is created from a 40 year old family recipe.
Other favourites include Barbecued Prawns, Beef Rendang & Gado Gado. Nancy Lam's Enak Enak restaurant has been serving diners in Battersea/Clapham for over 30 years. My parents used to eat at Nancy's in the late 1980s before I came and destroyed their free child-less life. When I moved here 9 months ago they were pleasantly surprised that Nancy Lam Enak Enak was still going strong.

Services
It seems like only yesterday that Nancy Lam opened her small Indonesian restaurant Enak Enak 27 years ago. She introduced Londoners to her unique brand of family-style, Indonesian-inspired cooking - laced with a whole lot of Nancy Lam's trademark personal spice! They had loads of extra space to party too, because Enak Enak now seats more than 50 people instead of the original 28.

This is wonderful Indonesian food. My family are Indonesian so I had high expectations but it totally hit the mark! The beef rendang is a must but portion quite small make sure you get one portion per person. Nancy herself who runs the joint is a cute and funny little woman full of personality. She said the guests opposite us had been coming twice a week for 40 years, amazing! We'll definitely return.

Nancy’s closing up for good in December. You MUST visit before this happens. She still cooks her amazing, simple Indonesian dishes herself and will serve them with a smile and an infectious cackle. When dining at Nancy’s, you’re made to feel like you’re sharing a meal in somebody’s home rather than in a restaurant.
My friends and I had such an amazing time at Nancy’s place, I only wish we discovered it sooner.

What a brilliant night! Nancy's pure joy! The food was delicious-the portions are a bit on the small side but really tasty. The service was wonderful. Loved hearing Nancy's anecdotes. Pity she'll be closing up soon. I'd strongly advise anyone to have a dining experience there asap before she leaves. Good luck in your new adventures Nancy!

The food was delicious and Nancy Lam is hilarious. Despite her age Nancy told us she still acts as front of house every night. She entertained us with anecdotes and cooking advice, punctuated with lots of swearing which, when delivered in her endearing south East Asian accent, sounds funny rather than rude. We enjoyed the mixed satay, beef redang and a nasi goreng. Can't wait to go again.

Food was really delicious, prawns super fresh and tasteful, chicken soft and crispy at the same time. Service was very friendly but very slow. We waited almost one hour for food although the restaurant was half full, but I must say it was worth to wait. I loved it. The owner is very funny and adds an additional value to the place as well.
Price is medium/high as portions are not huge, but you're definitely paying quality here. If you want to eat 1kg of chicken for 6 pounds go to KFC!

This was my first time dining specifically at an Indonesian restaurant. While I'm quite familiar with southeast Asian food, I had never eaten had a predominantly Indonesian place.
There were two different servers that night, one of whom was super friendly and the other who was not. Luckily, the friendly one was our main point of contact. We were able to ask her tons of questions about the menu and the dishes. Indonesian food seems to be a pretty good mesh of Chinese and Thai cuisines.
We were between the Treasure Hunt Chicken (lemongrass) and the Sambal Chicken, and ended up going with

The best Indonesian food I've ever had and that's including two holidays in Indonesia. Just excellent food full stop. Some rich, some light and delicate, all perfectly flavoured and textured and all made completely fresh.
Nancy is warm and charming, always comes around to say hello and ask how you are and saves her cheeky asides for when you're least expecting them.
Just travelled from far too far to visit again (used to live nearby) but it was more than worth every mile.
Thanks Nancy; we'll be back!

Great food and great hosts, on every occasion I have eaten here Nancy Lam has popped over to say hi and ask if we are enjoying our meal. It has been that way since it was a small 8 table restaurant and is an atmosphere that continued after the expansion.
Not the cheapest of restaurants but the taste and quality is there and frankly the price is more deserving than a chain celebrity chef restaurant where the "name" is rarely on site.
A great place to go if you want to relax and enjoy good food and good company just make sure you walk in with a smile and an open heart.
Looking forward

Nice, warm neighborhood restaurant. It's a pretty large restaurant but still have cozy ambience. I liked the tiny sparkly mirror balls on the ceiling :) Nancy and the waitress were very friendly. We quickly made ourselves at home.
The herbal soup immediately makes your body warm on a cold evening. It's chicken based broth with chicken meat, some veggies and interestingly goji berries. I wish the portion was a little bigger though. The cashew nuts fried mee, on the other hand, came in a large portion! Thin egg noodles and stir fried veggies and nuts were well mixed. The chili

Came here last night for dinner and was very impressed! The interior is very cozy and intimate and the service was very friendly and they gave us great recommendations. We split a few shrimp and veggie appetizers and entrees, tapas style so we got to taste a few different dishes and everything had lovely flavor and I ate till I couldn't fit any desert! Lovely spot for a BDay or intimate date. I will be back for sure any time I'm in town!

The food is OK, there is nothing wrong with it but the menu is quite boring. Given Nancy Lams high media extrovert profile I though the menu was going to be something quite interesting. The food is basic Indonesian.
The decor is very parochial, it really needs a make over.
Nancy Lam did make an appearance and came around to all of the tables to make sure everything was OK. There service was very good and the price average.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I don't ask much from Lavender Hill, a sprawling stretch of congested road that snakes it's way towards central London through the hilly Clapham area. But what I do ask for in these recession hit times is a decent amount of food for my hard earned pounds. £8.50 for 7 prawns cooked in way too much soy? Have a day off Nancy, you're most definitely having a laugh.
Most of my companion's dishes looked slightly better than my disastrous choice. A green curry tasted good and was bigger than my portion. But really for the price and location this is a bit

Sorry, Nancy Lam I like you. I really want to write a good review.
But I have to honest. You can call me traditional, but I don't like fusion food. Wine was expensive. Tiny portions, and I didn't feel satisfied at all.
I'm glad that you're able to cater different group of customers. Nice place. But, it just didn't do it for me.
Enak enak means "delicious" in Indonesian language.
