With our rustic, wood-panelled walls Osteria Antica Bologna has been a favourite fixture of the Northcote Road in Battersea, South West London for over 20 years. Under the watchful eye of Chef Marzio Zacchi, our menu changes frequently to showcase seasonal produce and a selection of daily specials are available depending on the market availability - both from our 'all-day' as well as lunchtime options.
Our all-Italian wine list matches our menu both in quality and value with several wines available by the glass. Marzio, originally from Biella in Piemonte, started his London career at Zafferano before moving on to become head chef at Rosmarino, Spiga and Alloro. Our cheerful and friendly staff are on hand to make your meal great, so please contact us or call 0207 978 4771 to make a reservation today.

We stumbled across Antiica Bologna by chance and so glad that we did. It's a small place that was v busy so we were lucky to get a table.
The food was unreal, and the specials were absolutely delicious. We had octopus carpaccio and calamari for starter, seafood spaghetti and pink duck breast for mains, then the most delicious lemon tart I've ever had - a soft lemon base with a creme brulee texture and caremalised top.
The waitress serving us was lovely and really passionate about the food. She was really attentive and made some great recommendations.

High quality food and authentic Italian tradition. Fish was fresh and tasty, pasta cooked at perfection. Location is quite small and can get very noisy but overall pleasant. Service is ok, owner was really nice and also left some home made biscuits for the table. Price was in line with quantity and quality - not cheap but neither extremely expensive. Nice Italian spot in Clapham junction!

Authentic. Welcoming. Delicious.
This is a gem in clapham. The pasta is so well done, specials are fabulous (seafood pasta) and portions are good. I had the Wild Boar Ragout, and be warned the noodles are thicc but the ragout is outstanding my partner orders the seafood pasta and it was jam packed with quality seafood and the sauce was extremely flavourful. Loved it! The service is superb and the make you feel at home and like family. I’ll be coming back again soon!

I ate here before I found out I can no longer consume gluten and was expecting more. The restaurant was extraordinary noisy to the point where we couldn’t hear each other and we were getting a headache so before we ordered—since no one came to take our order for some time—we told the waitress we were going to leave because of the noise level. She agreed that it was extremely loud and offered to seat us in another room which we didn’t know existed. It is where they keep their wine and the toilets were back there as well. We appreciated that they moved us but then we were away from the main

As the son of an Italian chef I can honestly say this is a great find! If going on a weekend evening I'm sure a reservation will be required. I was in the area on a Tuesday night and the place got pretty full around 7PM.
The food was spectacular! The rigatoni with sausage was full of flavor and very complimentary to the red wine. The pasta with mushroom (which I was told was seasonal) was beautiful, perfectly cooked with rich mushroom flavor. A cannolo was a perfect way to finish the meal.
If you are in the Battersea/Clapham area, this is a must try!

This was an unexpected and unforgettable find! It was our last evening in London. We started with Prosciutto and fresh fruit. Delicious! The squash ravioli was incredibly flavorful, with the pasta freshly homemade and amply filled.
The service was friendly, attentive and you felt you were part of the neighborhood.
I only wish I knew more about cooking and had a better vocabulary so I could give this restaurant the recommendation it deserves!
Oh, and don't forget the Limoncello!

Made a last minute Fri night reservation for 5 and they happily accommodated us. Large back room was quieter than the main room and good for a family group.
The service was extremely friendly and attentive from entry through exit. Welcoming, warm, A+.
Food was very good and straight forward. Wine was also good and a variety offered by the glass, carafe, or bottle. We had homemade parpadelle, risotto, ravioli, and gnocchi. The artichoke risotto was perfectly cooked but needed more flavor. The rest were so good we left nothing on our plates.
Desserts we're well done too. House made gelati

At first we didn't think much of the place. It looked like another place to eat but with everyone's stomachs rumbling we went in. With a party of 6 , they were extremely patient but also attentive enough to let us know the specials and keep the water coming in. We tried the beef , the pasta with mixed seafood and the lamb. The beef was just great and big, the pasta was very delicate and the fish fresh but it was that lamb that I can't get out of my mind! I had a taste of it and greedy asked for another bite. It was just so tender and succulent , in two morsels of it, I have fallen

Osteria is a cute little restaurant on Northcote road. I've passed by this place several times and finally had a chance to try it. I was surprised to see it was much bigger than it looks as there are a whole set of tables in the back. I had the crab linguine to start which was good but a little underwhelmed. For the 2nd course, I had the chicken with salad which was cooked really well but again just thought it was okay.

I recently enjoyed a very pleasant Saturday lunch here prompt and smiley service, and an interesting menu further enlivened by an array of tasty-sounding specials.
Two particualr highpoints were a roast leg of rabbit and porkbelly with cabbage; man-sized portions of loving prepared, high quality meat. I wouldn't bracket the Osteria with the likes of Strada or Carluccios; this is more ballsy north Italian cuisine, untarnished with the commeditisation which always seem to creep in with chains. Very nice coffees, too. A main, drinks, and coffee came to about £25/head, and I'd say it was

I really really wanted this one to work. It got a Zagat 23 (according to my iphone App) for food - very high for Clapham/Battersea so I solo'd it this past mid august weekend before trying to impress. It was a Sunday , in august and so crowds were low - even better though they were out of a few things I was interested in.
The salad starter was fine, the house wine, predictable but fine for the price but the main dissapointed. It was a pasta (the sort that looks like sea shells with a funny italian name), brocolli, anchois, and garlic. Interesting. Sadly the pasta was flavorless, the

Yes, you're right, the pasta here is splendid. Atmosphere is great, wine interesting. If you have th Tiramisu ask them which pudding wine they recommend, it was red sweet wine and it could not have been a better match.
For authentic, unusual, friendly brilliant Italian and an enjoyable evening whether it's a date or a party I'd recommend it very highly.
4 stars is a bit tight but that's because I'm being picky about my main course, which was only OK compared to everything else....

While good food, attentive service, ambience and sparkling company all go towards making a memorable dining experience, it is the sensation of feeling special and recognised that makes one build up an affection for a place. Too often in London, one feels a sense of being 'processed', of pat lines delivered by bored, badly-paid waiters who don't even look you in the eye, let alone know what your favourite dishes or wines are.
This is how I feel when I visit places like Pizza Express, Strada and other chain restaurants where plentiful customers are such a given that no special effort

A nice Italian restaurant on the popular and ever busy Northcote Road. The area is so popular, and in London you're never far from a Pizza Express or other sub standard chain, so this is a welcome change from that monotony.
The restaurant is huge, always full of families. The staff are friendly but a little eager to rush you in and out. Great in the summer as they have a load of outdoor seating.
I had the best salad I've ever eaten outside of my house in here; eggs, beans, artichoke, asparagus, tomatoes. It was genuinely delicious and the reason this place gets four stars. I believe

The Osteria Antica Bologna is an Italian restaurant on Northcote Road.
We went here a while back with my boyfriend's parents. They only really ever like eating Italian when they come to London and this place looked cool and homely.
When we were seated it really felt like we were in a little rustic, Italian nook on Northcote Road. I was pretty excited to see what the food taste like. My boyfriend ordered a Poussin and I had a fishy pasta. My past was OK, really saucy but a little oily. My boyfriend was expecting a juicy, plump bird but ended up with a dry bit of chicken and broccoli with

Osteria Antica Bologna is a lovely individual Italian on Northcote road. Inside the décor is rustic and charmingly unsophisticated. Pizza is definitely off the menu and delicious meat, fish and pasta dishes are on. I had a perfectly cooked rack of lamb and my date had veal. It was around £15 a main course which is quite expensive but the cooking was superb so I think it is justified.
