Few cities have the magic or beauty of York. Founded some 2,000 years ago by the Romans, York survived the Viking invasion, became part of Anglo-Saxon England and was almost destroyed because of its resistance to Norman rule. The Middle Ages saw our City prosper once again only to be followed by the Reformation and Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1593 which was devastating.

We had a wonderful stay. The owners are very friendly, helpful people, ready with advice and tips on what there is to do in and around York. We had a very nice room on the first floor decorated with lots of attention to detail, giving out at the back of the property with a very spacious bathroom. The breakfast was very well prepared, with very nice service and lots of choice.
