Services
The staff and Governors of Kendal Nursery provide an inclusive school which welcomes all children. We intend that every child will have equal opportunity to develop their full potential through the continuity of indoor and outdoor learning.
We aim to provide an integrated, flexible service that fosters and promotes children's development in line with the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the characteristics of effective learning and our image of the child.These principles celebrate the importance of the unique child, promoting positive relationships, providing an enabling environment and learning and development.

Our curriculum coverage is very much based on the children's interests making each year bespoke and unique to the children attending our Nursery. By following the children's interests we find children are more engaged and inspried allowing us to meet children's learning needs and enabling all children to achieve their full potential.
We recognise the significance of the outdoor environment as an exciting and valuable learning resource for young children. Learning in the outdoors is valued equally as the indoors and children are free to choose where they want to play. Our garden is unique in its layout providing a range of routes to challenge each child's physical ability.
Children work and play so hard whilst at Nursery!. Eating a healthy lunch allows them to live life to the full and get the most out of their time at Nursery. Eating healthily helps children with their concentration levels - which in turn affects their development and achievement. Lunch is also an opportunity to learn: about sharing and having a meal with others, using knives and forks, and about healthy eating and food.
At Nursery School we realise many parents are juggling work and other commitments and may need some additional hours for their child. To help we allow parents to be able to pay for additional sessions on top of the child's 15 or 30 funded hours or for full days in the 2 year old room. We charge 4.50 per hour.

Both my boys were lucky enough to attend Brantfield. What a fabulous start to their education. Their philosophy really fosters curiosity and learning through play. My older boy has Special Educational Needs and I attribute his love of learning (now in Year 6) to those early Brantfield days. Can’t recommend this school enough!

I'm just reflecting on my son's time at brantfield nursery and I really have to pinch myself as I can't thank the brantfield staff enough, times have been so hard when we lost codys mum and without the guidance and help off the staff I would of surely struggled at times, seeing how Cody has come on I'm over the moon i really am, there's no other place I would want us to be but at brantfield nursery, thank you so so much x

We are coming to the end of a chapter. Both our young lads have been in Brantfield’s care since they were 2 years old and tomorrow this journey comes to a close. Their journeys have been varied. Both magical and inspiring but not the same story as they are not the same characters. You have celebrated with us those special milestones in their early… years. You have nurtured adventure, imagination and friendships (and taught letters, numbers, prewriting, sharing, life skills...) It will be an incredibly sad day tomorrow when we have to say goodbye to the most magical nursery, the most incredible staff and a very special and unique chapter in my daughter’s life. Believe the rumours… about ‘the Brantfield experience’ because they are true. Both of my daughters self confidence and love of learning blossomed and bloomed on the ever-evolving, child-led, dynamic opportunities, experiences and amazing set up at Brantfield. It’s a simple formula really, the outstanding staff genuinely connect with and understand children and their emotional and learning
