Kempsford C Of E Primary School
Kempsford C of E Primary takes safeguarding very seriously and has an extensive range of strategies for keeping children safe. These strategies extend to all who work in or with our school. We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents of the need to discuss internet safety with their children to ensure they know not to add / talk to strangers and that usage is supervised.

Many of the stories seen have involved young children (mostly between the ages of 6-9) who have come across videos whilst using YouTube, an app rated for 13 year olds and over, unsupervised. We are also aware that some doctored videos have been added to YouTube Kids but the platform is working to get these taken down.
Services
Parents moving into our catchment area and wishing to send their child to the school are warmly invited to contact the school to arrange a visit. Parents of Reception age children are invited to visit the school during the Spring Term of the year preceding their child's admission and an Open Evening is held in July, where staff from the school will provide information on the Foundation Stage curriculum and the arrangements for admission.
Details of teaching positions being recruited for can be found on the Gloucestershire Teaching Jobs website. Kempsford School is in south-east Gloucestershire - bordering Oxfordshire, Swindon and Wiltshire, therefore any advertised roles may be of interest to candidates in those areas as well. We have a vacancy for a Parent Governor which we would like to fill as soon possible.
Every Friday we hold a special celebration worship, which celebrates children's successes; children can be nominated by each other to receive the Valarie Values award for demonstrating one of the school values, to receive a Bee certificate for demonstrating one of the school's 3Bs, to discover the class that has won the weekly attendance award, Justin Time, for overall best attendance and to discover which house has received the most house points towards the house cup.
This is the governor committee which provides a direct link between the school and the church. This is because the Foundation Governors, who are appointed by the Diocese of Gloucester, are specifically required to be members of this committtee, working closely with school leaders and other governors to ensure the school's vison and values are seen in action in our school.
RISE is underpinned by our Christian Values. We promote these Values through all that we do. To keep driving forward our Vision, we dedicate time each week for the children to discuss the Values and learn how these impact on our everyday lives in modern day Britain. Collective Worship celebrates the Values and engages children to reflect on them, taking examples from the Bible to guide how we all strive to RISE.
