Ees Wyke is an elegant Georgian house in Near Sawrey, a small village in the English Lake District. Once the holiday home of Beatrix Potter it is set on high ground overlooking and adjacent to Esthwaite Water. Now an elegant and personally managed guest house in our 17th season, we offer luxury accommodation.

We have won awards for our breakfasts and for many years have held the AA rosette for dinner. We are recommended in the Good Hotel Guide. A comfortable stay is assured. The dining room and lounge together with most bedrooms have stunning views across the Lake to the fells of Coniston Old Man, the Langdale Pikes and the extensive woodland of Grizedale Forest.
Services
The author, Beatrix Potter, stayed at Ees Wyke on several occasions when the family rented the house as a holiday home. The house was then known as Lakesfield. Later she purchased nearby Hill Top Farm, the setting for six of her books of which the first was "The Tales of Peter Rabbit". We know from her letters to her publisher that she stayed here while editing "The Tales of Peter Rabbit".
The breakfast menu features locally made sausage and dry cured bacon from our butcher and homemade bread. The generous buffet table has a selection of cereals, freshly squeezed juices, compotes, porage and freshly baked croissants. We have received The Automobile Association award for breakfast. See samples of a recent menus.
