I recently visited the opticians for a check up as I have been experiencing very dry sore eyes. On my first visit, I opted to have my appt with Becca the pre-registration optometrist as you got a free wide field retina scan when doing so. She was very kind and answered all of my questions. I then saw Sue who performed the scans and was lovely. I mentioned about my dry eyes and she kindly gave me a packet of tester wipes to try removing my eye make up with before committing to purchasing a full packet which I thought was great service!

Well today I have just got the all clear from York eye clinic after having a tear in my retina. I would like to say a big thank you to Bob Barr for spotting it, luckily for me, on the Optomap wide angle retinal scanner they have in Pagan and McQuade. Had it not been for that photo it may not have been spotted as it was on the very far periphery of my retina. This has all taken place in the last fortnight, that's a trip to Scarborough eye clinic, 2 trips to York one having laser surgery and finally another to give me the all clear. But for your professionalism it could have been more serious, so

I cannot fault the pleasant young lady who helped me with the purchase of some reading glasses however I was shocked by the high cost of the frames which in other opticians cost less than half Pagan and Mcquade prices!!
Also If I had opted for a finer quality lens offered at the beginning not as a first choice, the cost for the lenses would have been quadrupled in price.!!!
I felt I was obliged to buy these expensive frames as there was simple no lower priced ones on sale
Very aggrieved and disappointed and will not be going again to this optician I feel totally 'ripped off' đ

Well. After having used Pagan and McQuade for a while I am very disappointed at now having been âstruck offâ for not buying their frames.
I had my eyes tested but elected to take my prescription and buy my glasses elsewhere as I find their frames expensive.
I was told today they will no longer do my eye test because they are a âfull service opticiansâ
Basically buy your overpriced frames from us or donât come back. DISGUSTING!!!!

I'd just like to say how happy I've been with the service I received recently when selecting my new glasses. From my initial eye examination to collecting my glasses at the weekend, everyone has just been so friendly and helpful. Special thank you to Lacey for helping me select the right frames and explaining everything so well in terms of the types of lens I could choose for the frames. The thank you card in my bag was a lovely touch too.
