OK, so you will want to know a little bit about us here at Village Optician. We want to know who we are dealing with when we're looking for new people to work with too! Myself, Michael and Stephen, my brother, are both fully qualified Optometrists. We did the usual thing after gaining our qualifications, and worked for some different Opticians, we didn't know at that point we wanted to be Optician business owners!
If you've landed on our website chances are you're wondering where is the best opticians for YOU and your individual requirements. Here at The Village Optician, we're different. That You'll Love Wearing If you are looking for something different from what you normally find on the high street, then we could have the frames for you.
At The Village Optician we allow 45 minutes for your eye examination and 60 minutes for an enhanced consultation. We appreciate that your time is valuable, and we want to make sure we get things right for you first time. Our clients choose The Village Optician because they want to see an expert, someone they can trust and have confidence in.
We have tried to help you out by complying a list of some of the most frequently asked questions. This always depends on your individual requirements, so it's hard to give an exact figure.
We'll always let you know the best we can do for you based on your individual needs and your prescription, but you're probably curious as to how much our glasses are and to see if we are a good fit for you. Let's start with the lenses. There are so many different options and types of spectacles lenses that this guide might not be able to give you an exact price, more of a guideline figure.

Must say I'm very disappointed with this place, not a great selection of glasses, had to pay for anti- reflective lenses. Got my first pair from Asda never paid extra, got my second pair from here never paid, this pair was told I would miss it if I didn't get the anti- reflection lenses, I agree, they proceed to charge me extra. Just to clarify when I got my first pair of glasses here, I said I didn't want to pay for anti-reflective lenses, when I went to pick them up, the optician advised they put it on free as I would really miss it.
Shame that customer service is no longer given.

My family and I have been using The Village Optician for years for all of our eye related needs and recently the team went above and beyond to help me.
I had an eye test just before the country’s lockdown was initiated, I was trying to get by but I’d broken my glasses and was trying to get by with an even older pair. I rang the guys and explained my problem and they couldn’t have been more helpful! I was able to visit the Aycliffe branch and select a new pair of glasses 👓 and a week later they arrived.

After buying some "Johann Von Goisern " frames from The Village Opticians at N/ Aycliffe btw thank you very much for helping me choose... eventually . Did not like how the lady that tested my dads eyes spoke to him-very rude and raising her voice telling him to stop shaking his eye and repeatedly asking why he was doing it when he wasn’t aware he was. She also said he wouldn’t be able to drive as she couldn’t get him matched up to anything. However we have since been to spec savers at Bishop,… they were fab, very nice, got him a pair of glasses ASAP and we were told because his eye has a shake to it they should be tested individually not together!! Surely the woman testing here should know this kind of info 😡

First class customer service from the Village opticians in Coxhoe.
My daughter came home from school with the news that she had dropped and damaged her glasses. Unfortuantely we are going on holiday and there was not much time to get them repaired. So I popped into the Village opticians on the off chance and they fixed them efficeintly and quickly, without any fuss.
