Deens Garage has been an established landmark in Beckenham High Street since 1913. It was purchased in 1999 by the current proprietor, Chris Penfold, who had previously worked at the shop for 15 years. We are still a family run business and still believe in the traditional values of good quality products and service.
All of our staff are either bmx or mountain bike enthusiasts, committed to giving quality advice. Every type of cycling enthusiast is catered for - from childrens first trikes through to BMXs, Mountain, Hybrid or Road Bikes, from basic models to top of the range. We stock quality brand names such as GT, Scott, Kona Saracen, Raleigh, Mongoose, Dahon, Claud Butler, Falcon and Shogun.

Been meening to drop in a review of Deens for a while - awesome bike store, we’ll worthy of Rouleur’s rule #58 (Support your local bike shop)! Great knowledge, service, parts etc - Road bike being kept tip top by Chris and the team as well as kids bikes and also helping with our beloved BMXes! Surprisingly wide choice of new and used bikes on offer too. Top drawer operation!

In short, found him really rude actually. He called my sons bike awful, said I should through it in the bin. He doesn't have any clue if that's all I can afford for him, or whether I might've liked to buy a bike from his store. Clearly an arrogant person, and wasn't welcoming of someone like me to come and ask of a services from his store. I walked out, because I thought it was highly embarrassing and rude...all in the space of being in that store for 2 minutes. Have taken the bike to a more humble and let's say accommodating establishment ...A note to the gentlemen...you may know all there is

I have nothing but praise for this company... I remember approaching Chris (Owner) late last year (2020) to get advice on a road bike, given I'd been riding around the borough streets on a 18Kg mountain bike during the first COVID-19 lockdown. Chris immediately sized me up and recommended a bike for me... Merida Scultura 400 disc... And what a difference it has made.!
Chris could predict my riding experience, such as telling me I'd never look back at the MTB and that before I knew it, I'd be riding in cleats (which I dreaded at the time) ... Rightfully so, both predictions were spot on!!

Chris from Deens Garage was very helpful in assisting with ordering replacement parts for a recalled faulty Cannondale treadwell basket. Their mechanic has installed it superbly even though it had a part missing and what I appreciate the most, he took initiative to tighten the whole bike which I didn't even realise was very rickety until I cycled back home!!

Really slow ponderous service. 3 people in the shop and only one seeming to serve a queue of people out the door.
The rest chatting and seeming to just shuffle around in the back room. Took 20 minutes to be served after waiting 6 weeks to fix a broken bottom bracket and crank. When I left they hadn't bothered to check my tires were inflated so I couldn't cycle it home.
Avoid the place, it's amateur hour customer service.

My bike hadn't been serviced in a really long time, I mean a really loooong time.
Having driven past Deens Garage for many years I took the plunge stopped popped in, observing all COVID precautions. The staff were attentive as I described my bikes many issues and they were mire than confident they could bring new life to my tired bike, we will set it up right for you, was the claim! A date was agreed as to when to bring it in.
I dropped my bike off the following week and then waited for the call to be told all the things that were wrong with it, it was an extensive list but I knew it was

Bought my first hybrid bike yesterday - friendly, knowledgable & efficient staff! So pleased with the quality of the bike having just finished a long cycle! Very glad to be able to support a local family run business. Will highly recommend Deen’s to anyone looking for a quarantine present for yourself!

A really good shop. Very friendly and gives great advice according to your needs and budget, whether you are a serious cyclist or more for leisure/family time. They go the extra mile to make the customer happy.
I bought my wife's Claude Butler bike there and my daughter's Micro scooter too. Recently I needed a specific part for an old trailer bike I'd picked up at a boot sale. This part is no longer available, but the proprietor looked into a drawer and found the component I needed and didn't charge too much for it.
