Very friendly service! I lost a fixing plate on my rear derailleur and was trying to get a replacement everywhere. Most shops didn’t even want to talk. A very friendly mechanic in On Your Bike not only offered me help, but did a crash course on indexing! Would recommend this shop to anyone, and they do excellent weekend rental deals as well!!

Did repair with this store a few months ago and I had nothing but great experience then. Today I took my other bike for service using a government scheme voucher. A simple task of replacing disk brakes and disk rotor was priced as much as a few months ago replacement of the whole brakes. When I questioned that, I was told that the prices of parts went up.
I needed to have this bike fixed so could not do much about it but when I was collecting the bike I shared my feedback with a not exactly charming guy whose attitude was "this is what it is". And when I said I am not disputing payment as I agreed

Had an issue where I needed a spacer for fitting the cassette to an indoor trainer and they were very helpful and had a look downstairs and found one and they didn’t want anything for it. Just fitted and every things running smooth. Will be popping there again next time I need something for my bike

Overral experience was OK with this store, where I purchased my bike.
Nice options and quick assembly.
However, I must say the terrible experience I had two times with the staff called Gary. The way he speaks with customers are insane, he made all he could to make my experience a disaster. Well done.
It is a shame such a nice store, in a good location with broad options keeps someone grumpy and ready to bad serve the customers like he does.

Dreadful customer service - definitely not worth crossing the river for.
I took my bike in to repair a puncture, and paid upfront. When I went to collect, the gentleman who handed the bike over (no charm school graduate) queried whether I had paid as I was leaving. I said that I had several times. Rather than address me, he started to call towards the people at the till to ‘check’ that I had actually paid. I am not a criminal, and the implicit assumption that I was trying to steal £16 worth of services was not a particularly great end to the day. Cue a lot of faffing from staff - enough time

Would definitely recommend. Full honestly from staff, no hard selling or trying to just flog you anything, which as I’ve found out lately is rare! Staff went above and beyond spending time with me. I was after a very specific model but not sure on size as I was bang on the line between two, sadly due to no fault of the store there is a stock shortage of the particular bike but staff fully sized me up, and happened to size me upto the size they couldn’t get hold of from the manufacturer quickly. They were honest about this and didn’t try and sell me the size they could get quicker. This is

I rented a road bike for a three day weekend and had a great experience. The online booking is easy, I called ahead to check the bike was ready and available in my size. Check in at the store was easy and quick, and the bike was ready to go. I had requested SPD pedals and these were already on the bike. Most importantly, the bike was great - relatively new and a decent quality road bike. I enjoyed the bike for three days and 'check out' was also easy -- in and out in 5 minutes. Overall, a great store if you are looking to hire a good quality road bike.

Traveling from across the pond to do a bike ride from London to Paris, I arrived with my bike dis-assembled in a box. I called several local bike shops in the Southwark area ahead of time looking for someone to assemble the bike together. Only these folks replied. I made the required appointment, dropped my bike off, two days later it was assembled to perfect condition. Scott the mechanic was super friendly and helpful. Oh yeah, this is the coolest looking bike shop ever, located in the coolest place ever (under London Bridge). FIVE STARS easily

Walked in end of day. Got 2 bikes (1m, 1F) for 100 quid for a week. Make sure the rubber things on the handle bars are fastened. Also make sure the seat isn't on an insane angle and going up your butt. Other than that, bikes were perfect and service was solid. Would recommend bringing your own large Kryptonite chain - that way you can chain up anywhere around anything.

My experience renting a bike here for a few days was that their attitude was a bit in the "we're doing a you a huge favor and it's annoying" ballpark.
When I arrived first I just stood by the counter with no one even saying "just give us a minute". Then a guy told me to go to the next room and ask for "Tom" (name changed). Tom was talking to a colleague with no customers around.
I asked him if he could help me rent a bike.
He said he was busy.
I mentioned that the guy at the counter had said that he might be able to help me.
He got in a huffy mood and

Tl;dr version: If you want a road bike for hire in London, this is the place.
Me: Do you have road bikes for hire, or know of a place I can find one?
Employee: Have you tried Barcl--
Me: Haha, yes I'm aware of Barclay's, but I want a road bicycle.
Employee: What do you mean "road bicycle"?
Me: You know, for a longer/real ride. Like that *points to bike*
Employee: Oh! You mean a race bike.
Me: Yes!
Employee: Yeah...no idea, sorry.
I never thought finding a road bike for hire - in what is seemingly such a pro-bike town (what with Team Sky and the new heavy investment

I visit On Your Bike all the time to buy bits and bobs.
I also bring my bike in for servicing, which is always completed competently.
But what I like most about On Your Bike is that the sales people are genuinely helpful. Over the last year, I've had someone remove my pedals, adjust my handlebar height, replace my stem, check my saddle height for me, take my bike on a test run to find out where that incessant clicking sound was coming from, tighten my pedals, and pump my tires (among other things). And they've always done these things for me for free, with a smile.

Pretty good shop actually for shopping around for bike stuff. This used to be just down the road from me so I used to head in often, I don't think I ever needed anything they didn't have. As it is a large store it is very well stocked.
They also have a professional pump inside that you can use to pump up your tires and a space to leave your bike.

This is the sort of bike shop I usually try to stay clear of. It's big and shiny and there's lot of stuff on display but staff generally don't have much of a clue and are only really interested in selling you overpriced items. Bikes are probably round the same as anywhere else but accessories are ridiculously expensive, so much cheaper on the web.
Despite of that I used to buy from them from time to time as they're really close to my office but I've stopped completely after my last experience. My chain had broken close to On your Bike, so I thought I'd just go in

On Your Bike is a huge, well-stocked bike shop that sells a decent variety of models, from old-style roadsters to mountain and road bikes. I've found the sales staff friendly and relatively helpful when I've needed to buy the odd tool or spare part, but the real reason I'm such a fan of this place is the excellent and reliable workshop they have.
When you drop your bike off for a service at this place in the morning you know you'll have it back later that day - invaluable if you commute by bike as I do. They'll ring you to let you know when it's done, or if they think

More than the actual shop itself I really like its location. It used to be a tunnel back in the 1800's and if you pay close attention you can really see what it used to be and the history behind the arched roof. If you are a bike worm you will feel at home here, they have all the quality bikes such as Cannondale, Lemond, Marin, Gary Fisher, Dawes, Whyte and Brompton. Accessories and clothing range (Nike, Cannondale, Endura, Altura, DeMarchi, Gore and Hind), I recommend their workshop if you have problem with your bike, anything from a puncture to headshok service. However, all these products

I like this bike shop. It's on cavernous premises. Something of a bike supermarket so it's possible to wander the aisles in awe of all this bike stuff. Stuff you never knew you needed. Or even existed. It's a bit like that. They have so much kit, a pretty exhaustive range of stock.
Drinks bottles (a range). Biking clothing. Helmets. New slinky wheels. New tyres. A unicycle. And lots and lots of bikes. I found the staff really friendly. Very knowledgeable, which you'd expect, all clearly enthusiasts themselves, which is nice. And all together, really well-presented

On your Bike in London Bridge is a very large store which stocks all kinds of bikes and bicycle equipment. However, the customer service isn't too great and once you put a deposit down on a bike, actually getting it becomes somewhat of an annoying experience as there always seems to be a delay.
The staff are very knowledgeable about bikes but their manner is quite off-putting. I also found the store after looking in other bicycle shops to be rather on the expensive side. I was a first time cyclist in London and I definitely felt that the staff took advantage of that and attempted to sell

This is a large, independent bike shop, catering for beginners to pros. I've only had reason to shop here once, and am definitely going to be going back. Service was great, and they were able to build me a wheel from scratch in a day, made exactly to spec.
I think prices are pretty normal, although I doubt this is a place to find 'deals'. All in all, I reckon this is a good place to go if you need some expertise.
