Went to SBC after a hearing a lot of great feedback from riding buddies and wasn't disappointed. Kind enough to answer my endless questions and then built me an outstanding pair of wheels at a keen price. These guys are the real deal! Ditch the chain bike stores as these guys give you real service and know literally everything there is to know about bikes.
Every time I go in there I leave with my problem solved. Cannot more highly recommend! Was searching for a decent service for my BMC, was quoted 1-2 weeks by the douchey big chain places. Called up these guys at 13:30 in the afternoon and despite having wheel builds and other stuff to do still managed to fit me in for same day turnaround and to get my bike looking like the sexy wheel demoness she was when I first got her.

These gentlemen are great. The bolt on my seat clamp snapped on the way home. I went to a few bike shops which suggested a replacement seat post but none were in stock. None of them were willing to replace the bolt…except SBC. I called, they answered, and within 15 mins I was riding home again for a v reasonable charge. Thank you for saving my backside - literally and figuratively on this cold and wet day! A great local bike shop.

Unfortunately my experience wasn’t as positive as the others. My bike ended up in an even worse state after they carried out their work. I thought I would give this place a try instead of my usual local bike shop because of all the positive reviews. The retainer bolt for the pads on my rear disc brake had sheered off so there was piece of the bolt stuck inside. Also my rear wheel was making a grinding noise after I had washed it, I think some water or cleaning fluid had gotten inside the hub. I contacted them over email and asked them how much it would cost to remove the bolt and they said that

What can I say other than outstanding! I emailed Bobby to inquire about a wheel build and was promptly sent a quote as well as different options for wheel depth. Once we agreed on components the build took just over a week to complete. The quality and attention to detail on the wheels are second to none. They're comfortable, sturdy, and deadly silent and really tied my whole bike build together finally. They were very up front about pricing for all the extras I needed (valves, tyre fitting etc) and it was all extremely reasonable.
Definitely check these guys out for any wheel building needs or

I recently went to SBC cycles for the first time as my usual bike shop was closed and saw that they had good reviews. I needed a general service and I got new inner tubes as part of this. They told me they would call when my bike was ready to pick up but a week later I hadn't heard anything. Whenever I tried to ring the shop nobody answered or it said their voicemail was full. Eventually I walked to the shop the following week and was told that my bike was ready and that the person who had fixed it was an holiday and must have forgotten to call me. They weren't apologetic and the price of the service

DELIGHTED with my new bike. I couldn't find a bike on the market that suited my needs as often mass produced bikes don't offer frame sizes that are suitable for a female rider of my height. I was also looking for something quite niche: a mixte frame as they are practical and versatile.
The bike is built beautifully, including the wheels, and I'm very happy with it. It is light (for a steel tourer/commuter with mudguards and a rack that is) and very comfortable to ride even with a 10kg toddler at the back - for once I have a bike that feels exactly the right size for me as oppose to a compromise

Blew out my front tire while biking along the canals and had to drag my bike for a while. Saw the advertisement bike for SBC Cycles propped up on the bridge and walked 5 minutes to their shop. Service was very prompt - I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, with brand new tubes for the front tire, pumped up rear tire, tightened bearings, and a new bracket to prop up my mudguards! All in all it took less time for me to fix the tires and bike to work than it would've to walk the rest of the way to work. And the mudguards don't bounce on the tires anymore :) A++ service!
