On behalf of the Pupils, Staff and Board of Governors, may I take this opportunity of welcoming you to our new school website. This site has been designed to provide you with information that you will need to ensure you get a taste of what life is like for our pupils and of events associated with our school throughout the year.
We pride ourselves in ensuring we meet the individual needs of all the children and are confident that when pupils finish their time at The Irish Society's Primary School, Coleraine, they have had the opportunity to reach their full potential. We have a strong history in the local area dating back to the 1700's.

Services
We are very proud of our school orchestra. In our orchestra we have a range of string, woodwind and brass instruments. Orchestra rehearsals take place each week and provide a fantastic opportunity for children from Year 5 - Year 7 to work together to make music. Our orchestra performs at various school concerts.
The Irish Society's Primary School and Nursery Unit strives to provide a welcoming and happy learning environment where children are encouraged and supported to excel in their own ability within an inclusive and respectful setting. This is supported by dedicated and hardworking staff whilst embracing our immediate school family and wider community.
We currently offer two types of residential trips in Year 7. The children travel by plane to London/Edinburgh where they get to see a varied mix of historical and modern places as well as the excitement of a concert. Our other trip is an Outdoor Residential trip within our local area. This trip allows children to gain independence whilst experiencing what our coast and inland has to offer.
Children in P1 and P2 need slip-on white or black PE shoes. Please write their name inside each shoe and put them in a named PE bag. This bag hangs on their coat peg throughout the year, but will be sent home periodically to let you check shoe size. From P3 upwards, children are encouraged to wear PE togs during lessons - red tee shirt, navy blue shorts with gym slippers.
We are extremely proud of our Parents' Association and the fantastic work they do for our school. Over the past number of years they have raised thousands of pounds that has gone towards the work in school. Parents of all children enrolled at the school are automatically members of the school's Parents' Association.

Fairly average school my children attended this school when previous principal was there. I have worked in schools myself and didn't feel the standard as good as schools l worked in around the North Coast. However I and people l was friendly with whose children also attended the school are most impressed with the changes. Just a pity they came too late for our children now grown up. The draw back for residents of the area is significantly worse issues with parents parking on the main road of Rugby avenue. So many times since September I have had people nearly running into myself on the way to work
