As the Principal of Ballymoney Nursery School, I am delighted to welcome you to our new school website. I hope that you find the information on our school website, both informative and that it gives you an insight into our school. All staff within our school work hard to provide high quality learning experiences for all of our children.

We strive to provide all of our children with a well balanced and varied play based curriculum. It is structured to enable each child to develop aesthetically, intellectually, socially and physically and to help give our children the best start in life to become successful, confident and responsible in an ever changing world.
Services
Ballymoney Nursery School was founded during the Second World War in a village outside the town. It is now situated in Ballymoney town and has been in existence on this site for over thirty years. The school is funded by The Department of Education and is run by a Board of Governors under the Education Authority.
Provide a caring, stimulating, nurturing, inclusive learning environment where children can settle, be positive when learning and all staff encourage them to develop their potential. Be a positive influence in the lives of the children and families we work with through creating a supportive nursery which feels like home and where everyone feels valued.
Mrs Trimmings has been our Principal since 2019. She has taught in a variety of positions within the Primary and Nursery sector and was a Principal of Primary Schools with Early Years Centres in Scotland for nine years before moving back \'home\'. As a mother of a toddler and a native of Northern Ireland, she moved back so that her daughter can grow up surrounded by family.
We in Ballymoney Nursery School have a Primary responsibility for the care, welfare and safety of the children in our care. We have policies and risk assessments in place to ensure the safeguarding of your child during their time at Ballymoney Nursery School. All the staff and volunteers have been subject to appropriate background checks such as Access NI and guidelines have been drawn up to guide their behaviour towards the children.
TIDY Northern Ireland's Eco-Schools manager Colin Latham stated, This is a wonderful achievement for all of those involved at Ballymoney Nursery School, I was lucky enough to be there today to hand over the flag in conjunction with Ballymoney Borough Council. The enthusiasm of the pupils and their Principal Mrs Martin and her staff throughout the process has been quite infectious.
