In 1967 Mr Leslie Trafford acquired the famous Powell's boat yard, and his vision was to build a vibrant hotel on the banks of the river Bure adjacent to his new shopping centre. The hotel was an architectural and iconic landmark on the Broads and opened in 1972 to great applause. It was hugely successful.
Wroxham is a perfect area for fishing holidays, walking holidays, bird watching, coastal walks, broads tours, sailing and much, much more. The Hotel Wroxham offers a central area to explore all the broads have to offer with eighteen comfortable well appointed en-suite bedrooms, eight of which have beautiful riverside views and balconies.
A riverside wedding venue is the ultimate fantasy for many brides-to-be, and The Wroxham can provide you with just that, offering the spacious waterside restaurant against a beautiful backdrop of traditional sailing boats and Royal swans. The restaurant can seat up to 70 guests sit down and combined with our private dining and events room we can accommodate up to 120.
