Opened in the autumn of 1999, Lad and Turner Independent Opticians has serviced the Wylde Green and wider Sutton Coldfield areas of Birmingham for nearly 20 years. Providing eye examinations, eye screening as well as a highly professional and friendly dispensing and advisory support service to an ever growing client base.
An eye examination checks much more than just your prescription. It tests for signs of eye disease and general health problems such as diabetes and glaucoma. Many sight and even life threatening conditions can be detected through regular examinations. A person (or a partner of someone) on Income Support, Disabled Person's Tax Credit, income-based Job-Seeker's Allowance, or Working Families' Tax Credit.

As the name suggests there is an insufficient supply of natural tears to keep the surface of the eye moist and healthy.
At your first consultation, Charmain will discuss your hearing history to understand what factors have influenced your hearing and to get more detailed information on the difficulties you're experiencing and what would be needed to help fix the problems. A hearing test will be performed which will take into account the level of hearing loss including your sensitivity to loud sounds.

I have recently changed my contact lens practice to Lad and Turner. My biggest regret is that I didn't change many years ago as this is such a professional and friendly practice . I have mono vision lenses but I've been experiencing difficulties . I am quite a challenge haha but Pete has been so understanding, patient and thorough and I know he wont be happy until he has tried all types of scenarios with me . I definitely recommend this practice it is second to none.

You won’t finder better service or knowledge. Pete and Jay are the John Lewis of Opticians, I have used them for over 20 years and can honestly say that their service is exemplary. The level of knowledge and advice supported by a genuine wish to provide the best solution possible with no hidden agenda, can’t be be matched.
The store is easy to access with readily available free parking, they have a large range of quality glasses and provide the very best optic brands.

Took my 5 year old to have an eye test. Nice and clean environment, professional, punctual and dedicated staff. The test by the optometrist was thorough, and done patiently and professionally. No overcrowding like in other high street opticians. I will be booking myself and my husband in for an eye test too. I have been looking for a really nice independent optician and finally I've found it. I highly recommend.

Jay is a superb optometrist who has gone the extra mile to take care of my mother in law who has been suffering with serious health issues. We required her eye pressures measuring but she has lost mobility through illness. Jay without hesitation was kind enough to visit her at her home to ensure this test was done. I am grateful to him for his kindness and expertise.
