Booked 3 nights away for my husband's 60th birthday. We ended up leaving early.
On arrival, we went to have a drink at the bar. They'd run out of a few beers and only had one left on tap. They'd run out of Holy Island Meade too.
I asked the following day if we could book a table in the restaurant for dinner. I was told it was closed over winter, but we could dine in the bar area instead. I asked if we might have a nice table, as it was my husband's 60th birthday. I said he doesn't want any fuss, but a nice table would be lovely. We came downstairs at 7pm. All the tables by the window and log

I really enjoyed our stay here. We upgraded to room with a view over the harbour which was lovely - the winter sun setting looked amazing. The bar/restaurant food is OK, service pleasant - no complaints (there are many other places to eat on the island). The room seemed over priced for what it was - but that's all - and I'd stay there again.

Such a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so kind and welcoming. My dog was travelling with us and for the first time I felt he was not seen as an inconvenience. They were helpful to my friend who is deaf and understood her need for a quiet table in the bar. The food was great. The views fantastic. This is my second stay and I will definitely be returning.

We booked a table for dinner here last night, celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had the most wonderful time; the staff couldn’t have been friendlier, the food was absolutely exquisite. We had three courses and every single item was beautifully prepared and tasted divine, the fillet steak rated right up there with the best we’ve ever had. Thank you for making our night so special. We would recommend this place to everyone wholeheartedly.
