Great location , right in the little town . Next door an amazing Italian restaurant limoncello. The room was modern but grand with an old fireplace , the staff welcoming and lovely . The only fault I could find was the shower was really hot and I struggled to find how to turn it down ( but that was probably me ) . The bit I didn’t know when we booked is that Charles Dickens has been there .

We arrived at 3pm for Sunday dinner at the in House restraunt after walking past a "chef" smoking at the front of the hotel on loudspeaker on his phone.
After confusion about our table and been told to come back in 2 hours we were then told the chef wanted us in then. All waiting staff didn't seem to know what they were doing - this is not an insult to them but more that they should of received better training (we all have to start somewhere) We were handed stained and dirty photocopied sheets of paper for

Dilapidated, neglected and on the verge of being dangerous. Paid £318 for two nights for something which was advertised as a ‘double executive room’ without breakfast. Had to leave after first night because of noise of seagulls and zero sleep, amongst other things. The room has single glazing, no secondary glazing to omit the horrendous noise from the gulls which is relentless all hours. Unfortunately this is not reflected in the price or mentioned anywhere on their website or partner website. The main stairway to the ‘executive rooms’ is appalling. No carpet, dust everywhere, boarded
