Staff were very nice and friendly. Thought l would be staying in the hotel but stayed in a room outside. It was clean but cold even with the heating on. Very disappointed that they weren't serving meals as they didn't have a chef. At £90 a night l thought it was a bit expensive considering the room l had and no breakfast and that was reduced. The hotel could be absolutely beautiful as it's a great location in Belford, if the owners just put more effort into it.

The bad points first, this is not luxury accommodation and the rooms are dated and the mattress could do with being exchanged for a newer model. However, the staff are first class and so friendly and helpful that it doesn't matter where you sleep. The chef also needs a mention; as the food is wonderful and at very reasonable prices that you will enjoy and love. The places to visit nearby make the visit well worthwhile and we will be returning later this year. Well done to all concerned for making our two night stay a great experience.

Visited here many times. It's a haven in a tranquil Northumberland village which is easily accessed just off the A1 and has so many places of interest within easy reach. Staff are always so welcoming and nothing is ever a trouble. Our room has always been clean and comfortable with extra pillows always at hand! Hospitality tray always well-equipped and topped-up as required. We've always found the food and service very satisfying at a fair price. The breakfast is super and highly recommend. The bar can get lively if there's a match on or an entertainer in house, but there's always a warm welcome

Went for an evening meal with our grandchildren whilst staying at local caravan park. We were made very welcome on arrival and the staff were lovely with the children. They brought them coloured pencils and colouring sheets. The meal was lovely and reasonably priced. The kids were given sweets after their meal. Very pleasant evening.

Update stayed here again in 2017 - same room, but it's been nicely decorated. Food and service still excellent.
We stayed here in early 2014. It's a lovely old building with plenty of character. That comes with a few issues such as creaky floors and doors that need a little encouragement to shut, our room had not been decorated for some time. That's the bad news over, now for the good. The room was spacious, the bed linen and towels were good quality. Everything was clean. The staff / owner were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. They served breakfast early as a few guests were there
