Our highly qualified veterinary team brings a diverse range of skills and certified areas of expertise. We regularly accept referrals from across the Midlands for Dermatology, Cardiology, Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic cases. Here at Blacks Vets we are very proud of the excellent nursing team which is managed by Group Head of Nursing Kate Slack and her team of Head Nurses; Liz Jefferson at Lye Surgery and Tracey Trippichio at Oldbury Surgery.

Dudley is our flagship branch and an RCVS recognised Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital. We are all very proud of the practice and the facilities as it allows us to offer our clients and their pets the highest standard of care possible. The Dudley Hospital is headed up by our Clinical Director, Brian Hogan, and accepts referrals in small animal surgery, cardiology and dermatology from other practices in the surrounding area.
Our Lye surgery won Silver - second out of ALL the veterinary surgeries in the UK in the Best UK Vets award 2016. Second only to our Dudley Hospital who won gold. We are very proud to be a Cat Friendly clinic and take pride in all the big and small touches intended to make your cat's visit to the vet as stress free as possible.
Open for appointments for limited days and times only; we will be contacting clients to facilitate postponed appointments. We can provide emergency care at our Dudley Hospital as usual and will advise on the steps you should follow on arrival at the practice over the phone.
The Sedgley surgery - which has been extended to add two additional operating theatres, new cat and dog kenneling areas, and a combination X ray and dental X ray suite - is located on the Dudley Road just outside Sedgley town centre.This facility comprising free client parking, comfortable waiting and consulting rooms and brand new operating facilities has been serving our clients in the Sedgley area for more than 35 years now.

A fantastic first visit! The team on reception were friendly on arrival and very helpful after seeing the vet and making our payment. We saw John who was beyond expectations when seeing to our new puppy. He went above and beyond when talking to us about his needs, and treating his ear mites. We could not recommend the practice enough!

Took our bedlington terrier billy in for an emergencey consultation today and saw dr Hogan. He was very informative and re assuring it was the best vet appointment I’ve ever attended and they can be stressful. Really appreciate his knowledge experience. Thank you we were seen so quickly and didn’t have to wait. Definitely recommend .

Appointment easy to book, with a text reminder system to help. Friendly and polite reception. Vet/clinician very friendly, professional and knowledgable, giving a very caring and detailed examination. Information shared and questions answered with explanations and and personal guidance. It was good consistency of having the appointments with the same Vet/clinician to monitor and track pets health and to build relationship and trust.

We took our cat in and was euthanasia was recommended, when asked about total cost we were told not to worry about that and they'd sort that out later, 2 weeks later bill was £270 which included £117 for cremation. So shocked at £153 for the euthanasia... Costs should've been discussed when we asked and not sprung on us
