Field Equine Vets
Congratulations Alastair, this is a huge achievement of which we are very proud. Thank you to all our clients who thought the same as we did that he deserved this award for all his dedication and care. It will be of no surprise to many that come the summer months we see a rise in the number of cases of laminitis.

This year has been no different, in fact we are seeing record numbers of cases. There are many factors that have influenced this- last year's winter was especially mild and this. Great day at Chaddesley point to point races today with the Albrighton and Woodland Hunt. Special shout out to the winners and runners in the first race sponsored by Field Equine Vets.

The aim of the pre-purchase examination is to carry out a thorough clinical examination on behalf of the prospective purchaser to identify and assess factors of a veterinary nature that could prejudice the horses suitability for its intended use. Each pre-purchase examination is carried out on behalf of a specific prospective purchaser so that the opinion can be based on that purchasers individual needs and intended use of the horse.
Tetanus is a terrible disease cause by Clostridium tetani bacteria. Horses are particularly sensitive to tetanus when compared with other species. Clostridium tetani bacteria normally gain entry through a wound. These bacteria then produce a toxin which results in a contraction of the musculature. Horses affected will normally appear distressed, with rigid, pricked up ears and protrusion of the 3rd eyelid when the head is lifted.

Really pleased with everyone at this vets, Dan came to an emergency call out to our pony a few months ago spent most the evening doing everything possible to save our pony who had suffered choke. He had to be taken into the clinic for further investigation works and spent a few days in after.. a great team of people and wouldn’t hesitate recommending them to anyone. :-)
