Whitefriars Primary School
History at Whitefriars Primary School is a very important part of the curriculum. It has been planned to link closely with other curriculum areas to ensure children gain a lot from their learning and to make it more memorable. Learning about History is so important. It can influence decisions made in the future, and open our minds to fully understand what has come before and why things are the way that they are now.

However, History at Whitefriars isn't just about the high level learning, it is also about being engaging and fun. We use a range of experience days and hands on learning to ensure the children enjoy their learning and see that History is fun, as well as useful.

As we are having to do things differently this year due to the pandemic, we are going to be adding a number of short videos which will introduce you to our school, some of the staff and what we have to offer. This is our first short video which takes you round the Reception classes. Children are accepted into this school in the September prior to their fifth birthday.
Whitefriars Primary School is an inclusive school, committed to providing an appropriate and high quality education for all children. We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs or a disability have an entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to them, and to be fully included in all aspects of school life.
Here is a video tutorial for you to share with parents if you choose to use Seesaw for remote home learning. In this video, I explain how to download the app. A video for the Year 6 children & their parents/guardians that gives information on how to upload work to Google Classroom, both using a laptop/computer or t.
Whitefriars Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. To achieve our commitment, we will ensure continuous development and improvement of robust safeguarding processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our staff and volunteers. Develop enthusiastic learners through fun activities and an engaging curriculum delivered by inspirational teachers.
