Amical Veterinary Centre is a well established, independent veterinary practice with a dedicated and caring team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, receptionists and management staff. We aim to provide the highest level of medical and surgical care in a professional and friendly environment. We have a team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses.
Several staff members have been part of the team for a considerable time. Mr Craig Joly MRCVS and Vanessa Grange RVN have been with Amical in excess of 30 years and Dr Nick Valley has been part of the team for over 20 years. Nurses Laura Dickens RVN and Michaela Hinson RVN have been part of the Team for over 10 years.

Services
Amical Veterinary Centre was established in 1989, by Elaine Stuttard, BVMS, MRCVS, with the aim of providing a high standard of patient and client care in modern, well equipped premises. Dr Nick Valley, DVM, MSc, MRCVS, took over the practice in 2001. Amical Veterinary Centre is an approved veterinary nurse training centre and in 2005 it was awarded a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Tier 2 Accredited Practice Standards Award.
Our veterinary fees are fair and competitive. Current prices are available from our reception staff and estimates will be provided by the veterinary surgeon for elective or emergency procedures. For our inpatients, the veterinary surgeon will provide daily updates about treatment costs. Sadly there is no equivalent of the NHS for pets, so please be aware that all fees need to be paid in full at the time of treatment.
Amical has a full time pharmacy administrator who controls and manages the dispensing of all prescription medications, ready for the veterinary surgeon to check and authorise. We have a well equipped laboratory, including our IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, which allow us to provide haematology and biochemistry blood testing, faecal testing, urine testing and microscopy.
Amical has a spacious reception area, which is staffed by four receptionists. Clients can purchase flea and worm treatments from reception, as well as pet healthcare products and food, which are displayed on our pet healthcare stand in reception. We have adequate seating and space for clients and their pets while they are waiting for appointments.
