Portreath Community Primary School
Portreath Primary school is a village school that prides itself on its very special relationship with its community. It is school where everyone knows and cares about each other. Portreath is a happy school that is committed to helping children do, and be their very best. We believe that happy children are the most successful learners.

It is a place where children know they matter, they believe in themselves and try to be the best that they can be. We are part of Crofty Multi Academy Trust- a trust where staff care passionately about children and a trust that aims for all children to receive great teaching, every day. Each school is unique and works together to support and challenge each other.
Services
The government provided 150 million per annum for the academic years 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16. Each school received 8000 plus an extra 5 per pupil. In 2017 the funding was increased further and it will continue to provide this funding until 2020, to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding.
Mrs Cassie Pamplin is the headteacher of our school. Her aim is to inspire the staff and children to be the best that they can be. She is dedicated to building on the strengths of this wonderful school. She is passionate about education and wants to provide the best education for the children of Portreath School.
Our school is proud to be part of the Crofty Multi Academy Trust, the running of which is overseen by the board of trustees - chaired by Mr Mike Hosking. The Trust Board is made up of volunteers, mainly people who have been school governors in the past but also including people with specific business or educational skills.
English sits at the heart of the primary curriculum and at Portreath Primary School we value our children's right to be literate and to enjoy literature. All at Portreath Primary School recognise the central importance of English. Gaining and using skills in language not only affects the child's progress in school, but also has a profound influence upon the course of his or her whole life.
The Early Years Statutory Framework is utilised to support an integrated approach to the learning, development and care of the children. We place great emphasis on these three areas as it is important that we ignite our children's curiosity, encourage their enthusiasms and build their capacity to learn, to form relationships and to thrive.
