Haverhill Golf Club is a welcoming members' club located in the tranquil Suffolk countryside. Our 18 hole course is set in attractive mature parkland bisected by the River Stour. With strategically placed hazards the course provides a great challenge for golfers of all abilities. Playing our course is a unique test for any golfer, including our excellent putting surfaces which are widely renowned for being some of the best greens in the country.
The course is not long by today's standards, but to score well the emphasis is on accuracy and good course management. A warm welcome awaits you in the clubhouse where a range of drinks and high quality food are on offer. There is no more pleasant a place to relax than the south-facing terrace that overlooks the course.

Services
The concept of a golf course in Haverhill came about in the late 1960's when plans to expand the town were being developed. The ex-Walker Cup Captain Charles Laurie amended initial layout designs and the resulting 9-hole course was built on farmland bisected by the Stour Brook and opened during the hot, dry summer of 1976.
The opening hole doglegs to the left offering the option of either a safe tee shot down the middle avoiding the bunker on the right or, for the long hitters, over the trees on the left to leave a short pitch to the green. There are bunkers front left and to the right of the two tiered green and a potentially troublesome belt of conifer trees behind.
Either before or when you've finished your round you will find a warm welcome from the staff in the clubhouse. There is no more pleasant a place to relax than the south-facing terrace that overlooks the course. We offer a wide selection of food. Whether it's a breakfast before your round or lunch/dinner after your round, our in house kitchen staff prepare a delightful menu to cater for all.
Since then he has graduated from the PGA and was awarded East Region Assistant of The Year during his final year. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Sports Coaching from Birmingham University. He was the first professional in Suffolk to complete the UKCC Level 3 Coaching Certificate. He maintains his AA PGA status by continuing CPD learning in order to keep up-to-date with current best practice.
He is one of four full time green keepers along with his deputy Craig Sisson who has worked at the club since 2008. We have completed many projects on the course which have been great to be a part of. My key focus has been to improve the greens which I believe is the main part of a golf course, producing quicker greens with better drainage.

This is a good course. Nice club house with the basic fare, polite staff, good parking and putting area to practise on. Doesn't have a driving range to practise on but has 2 nets to warm up in. Only one place to fill up or empty water so fill up or go before hand. The greens are either fast or slow like a furry carpet which can be very confusing as you never know what you will get on each hole. My uncle is a member at the club and I can't wait to play him again at this course.
