On 230 acres of rolling North Essex parkland, our members and visitors enjoy peace and tranquillity away from the bustle of modern life. Our Club sits adjacent to Gosfield Hall, the magnificent Georgian Manor House and one time Royal Residence. In this idyllic setting, we have two golf courses, the Championship Lakes and the less demanding Meadows.
The Lakes course, designed by Sir Henry Cotton, meanders through woods, across streams and over lakes in some of the most beautiful countryside in England.

Services
The decision to build a golf course at Gosfield was made in 1986. Architect, Howard Swan and Designer Sir Henry Cotton, proposed that we should add a 9-hole course to the 18 planned. The Lakes course would be a true test of golf, while the 9-hole Meadows Course would be less demanding. This event raised the first of many thousands of pounds which have since benefited junior golfers at Gosfield under the auspices of the Sir Henry Cotton Bursary.
You will be joining a warm friendly club with an active membership offering a range of competitive fixtures and plenty of opportunity for social golf. Set in the heart of peaceful picturesque NW Essex we have two excellent courses which between them, cater for all abilities. The 18 hole Lakes course was designed by 3 times Open Championship winner, Sir Henry Cotton, and was opened by Peter Alliss in 1989.
Welcome to the Lakes Men's section of Gosfield Lake Golf Club. Through our Competitions Committee we organise and run an extensive programme of competitions throughout the year. These include our 'Majors' plus medals, stablefords, pairs and mixed events. Generally speaking these take place over the weekend but there are also monthly midweek competitions.
We are a section within Gosfield Lake Golf Club organising our own competitions which comprise of stablefords, medals and 'Majors'. Most Men's and Mixed competitions are played at the weekend. Tuesday is allocated for Ladies competitions on both courses (see Ladies section for more information). All information about Meadows competitions and start sheets are posted on a dedicated notice board in the entrance lobby of the main clubhouse.
Welcome to the Ladies section at Gosfield Lake Golf Club. You can be sure of a friendly welcome from the Ladies section, whether new to the game of golf or a seasoned player there are plenty of opportunities for the full range of handicaps. Tuesday is Ladies competition day with tees reserved on both courses for Ladies only.

A very Open flattish course. But if the wind is up it would make the course more difficult.Due to the openness of the course & very little O/B’s you could score lots of stableford points. Some holes guarded by water, with fairway bunkers and some super 'driving' holes.Fairways, bunkers all in good condition, but the green were not very receptive?
Club house & pro shop had friendly staff, with practise area/bunker, putting green, driving net. This is my sort of course. Definitely recommended

Played the meadows, which was good value and the clubhouse/grounds were really good. However, some of the greens on the meadows course we're terrible! Been to pitch and putts with better greens. You can clearly see all the effort goes into the 18. Still overall had a good day but definitely work needs to be done otherwise can see it getting progressively worse

I play all year. Thought I'd try this course as price was value. The staff were very friendly,
However the course is very boggy. (Yeah I know we have had lots of rain) I play all year this course seem extremely wet n muddy.
Played Friday, had to tee off mats or grass, most of the time.
Tees must be kept for weekends...sorry guys had high expectations...
Hard to work out fairways from second cut. Poorly marked out course.

The two photos with me in black is my first lesson with stu and the other is today, I’ve gone from shank city to draw or boom city in 11 weeks, he’s golfs answer to progression, he’s the nicest and best coach within a 100 mile radius. He should charge £100 an hour but thankfully he’s only £40 at the moment. He’s got me from 90s to comfortable 70s in weeks.
