The Old Course, opened in 1901, has all the character you would expect from a course with so much history. The Wandlebury Course is well established and has already hosted Regional Qualifying for The Open. Built on free draining chalk downland and situated just 3 miles south east of the historic centre of Cambridge, the Gog Magog Golf Club has two excellent and very different courses.
It has great variety, great views and is a great test for all abilities. The Wandlebury Course, opened in 1997, is now well established and has already hosted Regional Qualifying for The Open for 5 years. Longer than the Old Course and with USGA specification greens, it also has great vistas. From both courses there are panoramic views across Cambridgeshire.

Services
Gonville and Caius College first purchased the land adjacent to the Gog Magog Hills for use as a golf course, "primarily for the use of senior members of the University", in 1896. Nine holes were laid out in 1899 and, in 1901, a further nine holes were laid out and the Gog Magog Golf Club was formally established.
In addition to our two Championship quality golf courses, the Gog Magog Golf Club offers one of the largest and most comprehensive practice amenities in the UK. The practice ground includes an area for the use of range balls as well as a large area where you can use your own balls. In addition there is a green with chipping and bunker facilities.
We are delighted to have been included in the top 40 best courses to play, rated by GolfShake read here for the listing. Both courses have panoramic views across the local countryside, giving a lovely spacious feel to your day out. The courses roam over 380 acres of free-draining chalk downland hills.

Truly an amazing golf course, we had the pleasure of playing the old course and it was in a spectacular condition, greens ran true and the course was immaculate. This has to be the best course I have played in the UK thus far. Highly recommend this course and look forward to returning to play the Wandlebury!

Old course - Average. I was expecting a lovely course based on the website and the credentials. Was very disappointed. The course was very open and the trees seemed very young. The greens were also really slow.
Lovely clubhouse though and excellent food. I did play with a member and was approx £25. So maybe not bad value considering?

Amazing design and setup. Well worth the trip. Very well maintained course with chalk based greens which is perfect for wet days out. Played very well with some challenging holes. I would recommend the new course as that's the one I played. I haven't tried the old course but I will be down there soon again. Great service by the staff and very welcoming. Thanks again.
