Welcome to Saint Edmund's and Saint Thomas' Catholic Primary and Nursery School, Waterloo. We serve the parish communities of Saint Edmund of Canterbury and Saint Thomas of Canterbury in Waterloo and our school provides for children from three years old to eleven years old. We have 315 school places in the main school (Reception to Year Six) and currently 52 part-time places in our Nursery.
The school has a planned admission number of 45 Reception places every September and we are thus organised by a one and a half form entry intake. The school thrives on its community ethos and our families who have enriched the school culture over successive generations with great commitment to the ongoing success of the school.

It was lovely to see some old faces and to welcome all our new children. The children are already starting to make new friends and getting to know the adults that work with them. They have all settled really well and are enjoying taking part in lots of activities. Tell your child that making mistakes is okay - the most important thing is to have a go in the first place.
Inspired by the teachings of Christ, St Edmund's and St Thomas' Catholic Primary school encourages and guides our pupils and all our school community to have a strong sense of service, love and compassion. In this way, they are encouraged to develop a vision for what they want to achieve with a zest for living life to the full.
It's hard to believe but it's that time of the year at again - the beginning of a new school year. Year 3 and 4 are the Engineers of our School. We will have a curriculum heavily focused on engineering skills including DT and Science. On Friday's we will have our 'Exciting Engineering' time, where we will be exploring the curriculum from an engineering point of view.
Just to remind you, weekly homework will be posted on a Friday and must be completed by the following Friday. Please download your homework and complete it in your yellow homework books provided by school. In your homework books, you have your Accelerated Reading login details, your school website login details, your TT Rockstars logins and also your new Rising Stars logins.
We try to ensure that each child settles happily and that each pupil has a part to play in the School. We provide a Catholic Christian family atmosphere in which individual children can develop their full potential spiritually, morally, intellectually and socially. We hope to achieve this through teaching and example, by showing and encouraging respect for each other and by developing good relationships both within the school and beyond.
